As we approach the commencement of the 2024 season, the Brisbane Women's Hockey Association (BWHA) extends a warm welcome to all members, both new and returning. We are excited about the upcoming BWHA competition and look forward to an exciting and competitive season ahead.

Respect is central to our interactions both on and off the field. It is crucial that we recognise and appreciate the diverse talents and perspectives within our hockey community. By treating each other with respect, we create a positive environment that enhances the quality of the game.

Our officials play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the game. While we may not always agree with their decisions, it is important to respect their authority and judgment. Displaying sportsmanship by treating officials with the respect they deserve is essential.

Let us all lead by example and instill these values below in all players, coaches, officials and spectators this year. Together, we can make the 2024 season a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.

📣 Update from our AGM held yesterday! 🌟 Big changes in the committee for 2024 with many seats vacated. A special shoutout to Kim Sheather as her term as Vice President came to a close, passing the baton to Daniel Fensom for the upcoming term. As Kim Sheather's term as Vice President of the Bulimba Bulls comes to a close in 2023, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey she has taken with our club. 🏑

Kim's legacy is woven into the very fabric of our community. For many years, she served as the President of the Bulimba Women's Club, demonstrating unwavering commitment, passion, and leadership. Following the merger of the Men and Women, Kim seamlessly transitioned into the role of Vice President, becoming an integral part of our united Bulimba Bulls family.

Her dedication is immeasurable, and it's no surprise that she holds the esteemed title of a life member. From playing on the field to coaching and steering from within the committee, Kim has poured her heart and soul into every facet of the club. The countless hours, boundless energy, and unyielding strength she invested have shaped the Bull's spirit and left an indelible mark on our history.

Kim is not just a leader; she is a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration for all. Her love for the club and its members is palpable, and her efforts have never gone unnoticed. Kim, you are loved and respected by many, and your impact is far-reaching. You are a true legend!

👏 Also, a big thanks to Todd Zuideveld and Ros Wilson for their valuable time as general members. 🌈 Excited to welcome Jess Roser, Brittany Brusasco, and Michelle Armstrong as new general members for the coming year! 🌟 Here's to a fantastic 2024 with continued dedication to the Bull's spirit!

🗓️New Dates! 🗓️

We are running four pre-Christmas training sessions for all our Junior Boys & Girls who are looking to transition into Seniors in 2024 and/or be selected in U18 Representative Teams.

The sessions will be run by our senior and representative coaches from 6:00-7:30pm on the following dates:
🐂 Thursday 7 December
🐂 Wednesday 13 December
🐂 Thursday 14 December
🐂 Tuesday 19 December
All sessions are open to both boys and girls and will be held at the State Hockey Centre.
