Cross-hatching on mountain bike tyre sidewalls is most commonly caused by running tyres at a low pressure. These low pressures allow for significant sidewall flex which damages tyres and compromises integrity of the tyre carcass. If you’re a rider who has dropped pressures to maximise grip while riding slippery conditions and you’ve started seeing cross hatching on sidewalls, you should strongly consider increasing your tyre pressure before excessive tyre damage reduces performance. Steps will be closed for the rest of April.

Dam road will be closed from 10th April till the end of April.

NTCA will be working on the Steps (trail #7) whilst it is closed, so please do not enter the trail.
