Schedule change, Championship racing will be before Challenge in Brisbane 🤩
The 2026 World Championships in Brisbane, Australia are going to be a little different to previous Championships. The Championship classes (Jr., U23, Elite) will be the first to race, a reversal of the usual schedule. The Championship action will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July (same day as the FIFA World Cup final), with the Challenge classes taking to the track the following week, we assume in the same order as usual. The event will also see the addition of multiple age categories in the girls and women’s challenge program, bringing it in line with the current male classes. Although, if the classes don’t meet the minimum rider count required, 20 registered riders, the classes will be merged and not split out for awards.

BE PART OF HISTORY – BMXNZ Needs YOU!
The UCI BMX Racing Worlds Challenge is coming to Brisbane, July 2026 – and with it, the biggest Kiwi rider turnout since Auckland 2013.
To make this happen, BMXNZ is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Regional Worlds Coordinators.
This role is CRUCIAL to supporting riders and families across New Zealand, with 400+ people expected to make the trip.
EOIs close 31 October 2025 – step up, be part of the team, and help showcase NZ BMX on the world stage.
