He will compete in the hurdles on Sunday at 4:03 pm

After the competition, Tinch didn’t hold back:

"I confidently believe, if 1 put the same amount of time into long jump as the rest of the jumpers, I'm the best long jumper in America."

The 27-year-old Scot ran 3:42.66 to surpass Hicham El Guerrouj’s long-standing mile record. Now, Kerr is targeting El Guerrouj’s 1500m world record of 3:26.00, which has stood since 1998.

Kerr passed 1500m in 3:27.70 during his mile world record run the seventh-fastest 1500m performance in history according to World Athletics.

Speaking about his next goal, Kerr said:

“I was soon thinking about a certain 1500-meter world record that has stood since 1998, one year longer than the mile.”

His focus has already shifted to chasing another historic mark.
