We are also pleased to share an important update for AOCRA South Queensland Zone following the Special General Meeting held on Monday 20 April, where delegates elected a new committee to serve through to the next AGM.

Sending out a big thank you to the outgoing committee for their contribution to the zone.
Formal communication will come out soon on our goals and key areas of focus. Please bear with us as we work through the handover process.
A number of committee members will be at the upcoming Scarborough Regatta and look forward to hearing from you and connecting with the paddlers.

Here you go folks. Update on Nationals.
Very excited for our clubbies at Coffs Harbour to be hosting this event.
They always bring a strong contingent to our Zone regattas.
Looking forward to the ocean racing that they have in their back yard.
National Marathons 15-17 May 2026 is rolling on at Coffs Harbour, NSW.
Just a quick update: National Marathons are definitely happening, and we're gearing up for a great weekend of racing and connecting.
Registrations are OPEN β and close 3rd May 2026.

Distances:
Friday 15th May Small Craft:
Short Course = 10km, Long Course = 16km
Junior Courses: 2 & 4km. Novices 6km
Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th: OC6 (Includes Unlimited)
Short Course = 10km, Long Course = 18km
Junior Courses: 2 & 4km. DASH: 6km
PFD Requirements
NSW Maritime law requires all small craft & V6 paddlers to wear an approved PFD for open ocean β LEVEL 50s and above
NOTE: An exemption is being sought from Maritime for V6 races. No inflatables allowed.
Presentations will occur at the end of each day.
β’ Friday presentations will be onsite (Races 1 β 4)
β’ Saturday presentation venue β Jetty Beach House
β’ Sunday presentation will be onsite
Club Trophy Eligibility
Club points will be awarded to all divisions where there are a minimum of 3 entries. This includes unlimited divisions.
Vendors, Food and Coffee
Our vendors will be back on-site to provide for all your paddling needs.
There are multiple coffee and food outlets in walking distance. The Rotary Club will also be providing a BBQ Food tent, with all proceeds going directly back into the local community. Please support the local businesses
Sunday Markets β there are also local Sunday Markets within walking distance. Please be mindful on Sunday that parking will be premium. There will be lots of families/children about, so all club tent and beach space maybe shared with the public
Towing and Travel Assistance
There is a limited towing and travel pool of funding.
Towing assistance will be provided for Club OC6 Trailers with a minimum of 3 x OC6 or OC1/OC2 trailers with a minimum of 9 canoes. Towing assistance is applicable for canoes travelling more than 1000kms to the event
Travel assistance can be claimed for paddlers travelling more than 1000kms to the event
All TEAM nominations are via club registrar
All Small Craft nominations are via individual AO member login
Race Fees
OC1/OC2/V1/V3 2/4/6km = $15 per paddler, per race
OC1/OC2/V1/V3 10km = $45 per paddler, per race
OC1/OC2/V1/V3 16km = $65 per paddler, per race
OC6 1/2/6km Jnr Dash= $15 per paddler, per race
OC6 Senior Dash = $25 per paddler, per race
OC6 Short Course = $45 per paddler, per race
OC6 Long Course = $65 per paddler, per race
19U OC6 Long Course = $45 per paddler, per race
Registration Desk Hours
Thursday 14th May = 2.30pm to 5pm
Friday 15th May = 7am to 2pm
Saturday 16th May = 6am to 2.30pm
Sunday 17th May = 7am to 12.30pm

Scarborough Outrigger Canoe Club Regatta | Australian Outriggers | Moving Oceans Australian Outriggers and we are the primary governing body of the sport in Australia, responsible for the administration of the sport on a national level.

Expressions of Interest are now open for projects supporting women and girls. Funding will be offered between $25,000 and $50,000. Organisations must be Australian registered charities with DGR Status 1 and annual revenue less than $5 million (Australian charities supporting international projects may be exempt). Projects can be based locally, nationally or internationally and run for up to 24 months.
