Wing Chun Queensland

Wing Chun Queensland Wing Chun Queensland was established in 2014. Wing Chun Kung Fu is based on speed, reflex and co-ordination.

Wing Chun Kung Fu is suitable for men, women and children. Wing Chun is a southern Chinese, Buddhist based fighting system characterised by straight punching and low line kicks, the stances are shallow and the body is held erect. Guarding and attacking along the centreline with lightning fast vertical punches is the system’s trademark. The practice of Chi Sao or sticky hands is a sensitivity training exercise which enables the practitioner to decrease the perception and response time once contact has been made with an opponent. Although the fighting techniques are extremely aggressive, the teaching methods produce a student who is calm and confident, thus providing a balance of soft and hard, Yin and Yang.

This is a rare one. A lot of people don’t know about it but if you’re ever in Sydney and you’re a Bruce Lee fan go check this out. It is located in Kogarah Town Square, Belgrave Street, Kogarah NSW 2217. It was Unveiled in 2011, the bronze statue was a gift from the People's Government of Shunde District in Guangdong, China. Shunde is Bruce Lee’s ancestral hometown. The gift celebrated the sister-city agreement between the former Kogarah Council and Shunde, and it honors the area's vibrant Chinese-Australian community.
