So yesterday the results for the National Titles OC1 16klm race indicated Leanne won her race but like last year, there were issues with the times so confusion (and frustration) reigned.
While Leanne may not have won her race, she went out there and raced 16klm and did really well at national level no less!
Leanne you are a champion in our books - not just because you raced but because you are a humble, hard working person with an unparalleled passion for this sport that speaks volumes of your character.
Keep paddling sister.

What a cracker of a weekend on Moreton Island! From paddling, snorkelling, feeding dolphins, climbing giant sand hills, fishing and exploring the pristine beauty of this island we all felt so grateful for having this island on our coast line. For a ferry ride of only 24 nautical miles, the city felt like a world away.
Thanks to our club for the foresight in obtaining a grant to buy a small craft trailer and the expert towing and handling by Clint Storey, we were able to take 13 small craft to the island.
Shout out to Steve Tomoana - the man who dreamed up this trip and committee members Raelene Jose and Jane Storey who helped organise the logistics. It’s all the unknown incidental things that require attention to detail that make a trip like this run smoothly.

On Saturday it was such a gorgeous day we scrapped the program and just enjoyed the paddle. Sometimes you just need to connect with the water, relax into smooth tunes and feel grateful for being able to spend time on the water with your paddling family.

The Gold Coast delivered a gorgeous day on the water for our regatta last weekend. Thanks to Surfers Paradise OCC it was a fun and action filled day. Was a litttle bit lumpy out there but we loved every minute and said a little thank you prayer to the ocean gods we didn’t huli (the ladies team had a very close call on the long course 😅).

Lots of paddling, laughs & great music (thanks to Steve Tomoana for his ‘Broductions’ paddling music).

Outrigger canoe paddling really is the greatest.

We are so proud of our pocket rocket paddler Leanne McManus giving her all in NZ at WAKA AMA this week.
This woman is a paddling machine.
Go Leanne! Poly Va’a is cheering you on from Oz.

The ohana spirit was electric on the weekend at the Redcliffe Outrigger Canoe Club and AOCRA SQZ regatta at Bells Beach, Redcliffe. Thank you ROCC & SQZ for making the day happen 🙏

Poly Va’a had a great day on the water (and IN the water - crystal clear and cool on a super hot day - just the best way to cool those engines after a race). Best memory of the day - relaxing in the water watching dolphins glide past!

Was it just me or did anyone else hear their feet sizzle in the water after running across the scorching sand to the water’s edge?

Our club had a fantastic day of racing, laughs, family, friends and the best of nature. This sport has it all and what a privilege to be on the water, connecting with each other and the ocean.
