We're on the lookout for dedicated and passionate wheelchair basketball referees to join us for the upcoming 2024 season. Whether you possess a thorough understanding of the game or are eager to embark on your journey in wheelchair basketball officiating, we'd love to connect with you!
Role: Become a referee for wheelchair basketball social games, offering an engaging and inclusive atmosphere.
Details:
๐ Date: Week 2 to Week 9 of each school term (4 school terms per year)
๐ Time: 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm (includes a 4x10-minute quarter basketball game)
๐ Location: Sporting Wheelies, 2 Kilroe Street, Milton.

Sporting Wheelies will be hosting a NEW weekly Wheelchair Basketball Refereed Games program in term 4, aimed at adults and more experienced players ๐
This new weekly refereed program is being run in addition to the current wheelchair basketball social sports program.
๐ 1hr from 7.15pm - 8.15pm (includes a 40min timed game).
๐ Sporting Wheelies, 2 Kilroe Street, Milton.

The Brisbane City Council are having a celebration tomorrow to celebrate 9 years until the start of the Olympics/Paralympics. Itโs at King George Square on Saturday between 12 and 1. They are having a demonstration of Wheelchair Basketball.

Gold Coast Rollerblaze
B Grade "Novice Tournament" Saturday 2nd July:
The GC Rollerblaze inaugural B Grade tournament took place in 2021, and was a very successful day. 2022 will be extending an invitation as far as Rockhampton and Coffs Harbour. It is hoped that the four Gold Coast B Grade club teams will play again, and Kangaroos are the defending champions of the tournament. However everyone who was there knows that this day was based around getting beginner "novice" players the experience and confidence to play in tournaments, and that will be the same aim in 2022.

With the current restrictions on community sport, the Brisbane Wheelchair Basketball League will be on โpauseโ until Wed 25 August.
In the meantime feel free to post your training videos or comments here. Why not challenge your fellow ballers !
Letโs see who can meet this challenge. All you will need is a wall (solid), ball and a chair (with or without wheels).
Complete in the quickest time.

Film yourself and upload the video to start the challenge ! Then you can call out or tag a team mate.
