If you are like me and hitting the exercise pretty hard in isolation there's a few key things to keep in mind - they all follow a similar theme...
⚠️Overtraining
⚠️Adequate recovery
⚠️Not enough variety
If you need a rest day but can't handle the thought of not training for a day do something different - big ab session if you never do core, light cardio if you never do cardio, simple strength if you never do strength or mobility if you should move better than you do.
Variety in training is so important and if you are utilising this extra time for your health and fitness you may as well do it properly...
Build muscle while improving cardio fitness and move better - yes if you've got the time and are willing to put in the effort it is all possible!
That swingset you bought the kids that's sitting lonely in the backyard is a great substitute for a gym!
Following up from my last post - 3 perfectly good back exercises without fancy gym equipment.
No they aren't perfect; in an ideal world those chairs for the Inverted row would be higher to get full range of motion. The water in the old protein bucket wouldn't slosh around (though hello extra core activation) and the tyre wouldn't make me filthy but they work my back muscles and didn't cost me an arm and a leg to set up so happy days!
If you've got spare cash to throw at gym equipment in this time that's awesome you are keeping someone in a job! But if you don't that's ok too, I've got your back!! 😉
Tip #1 - remember to train your back!
You may not have a cool set of ropes in your yard like I do but you can still train back.. Generally speaking any type of pulling motion will train your back.
If you have no gym equipment put two chairs next to each other and sit a broom handle over them from there you can do Inverted rows (or body rows as some call them).
If you have resistance bands wrap one around a pole or your feet and pull towards your belly button.
Failing that fill a bucket/water container/Jerry can and do one arm rows with them

Solo Saturday Training complete!
I'll start posting workouts and tips for training at home again, it's very easy to overtrain certain muscle groups when you've got limited resources and we don't want any injuries - there's enough going on in our lives at the moment!

If the thought of gyms closing is getting you down and you don't have much spare cash to get yourself equipment to do home workouts you are in luck!
Both these items come in under $20 from kmart! They aren't perfect but in this current situation they'll definitely get you through!
Continuing to exercise is so important and since I now have bulk free time I'll post regular workouts you can do from home with these little bands and body weight it's amazing how much strength you can still gain without using heavy weights👌
