We’re giving our juniors plenty of opportunities to be involved, including:

🏑 Junior Player Escorts - juniors will lead the PL1 Grand Final teams onto the field and take part in the medal ceremony

🏑 School Roadshow - Term 4 2026 🏑

The roadshow is an opportunity to bring field hockey to your school through a complimentary session run by experienced coaches. Students will be introduced to the sport through drills and skill based games delivered in a fun, inclusive and safe environment. All equipment is provided and sessions can be modified to suit all skill levels.

🏑 U16 Southern Cross 🏑

Our second-last Southern Cross tournament for the year, and what a fantastic day it was in Toowoomba!

A huge congratulations to all of our players, coaches, managers, umpires and supporters for making it such a great day.

Now it’s time to prepare for U16 State Championships in Rockhampton later this year.

🚨 New Safety Rules – Starting TODAY 🚨

From Friday 24 July, BWHA will be implementing the updated FIH rules relating to jewellery and watches.

Before taking the field:
• Remove all jewellery and watches.
• Permanent jewellery that cannot be removed must be securely taped.
• Glasses require prior BWHA approval.
• Medical alert watches require BWHA approval and a doctor's letter.

📧 Doctor's letters for medical alert watches must be emailed to [email protected] by 12:00pm Thursday before the relevant round. Players should also carry their approval letter to each game.

Players who do not remove jewellery, or appropriately tape permanent jewellery, will not be permitted to take the field.

These changes bring BWHA in line with the current FIH, Hockey Australia and Hockey Queensland regulations.

Please share this information with your players, coaches, managers and officials before this weekend.
