🖤🤍❤️ QUEENSLAND MAORI REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS 2026 – JERSEY PRESENTATION ❤️🤍🖤

HE MANA, HE IHI, HE WEHI – MORE THAN JUST A JERSEY! 🏉

What an incredibly proud and special evening for our Queensland Maori Rugby League whanau! ❤️

Lastnight, we celebrated the official jersey presentation for our 2026 Queensland Maori Representative Teams, marking the beginning of an exciting representative journey.

Our players earned the honour of representing Queensland Maori through their participation in the Nga Hau e Wha (NHEW) Tournament 2026, where our four rohe came together:

🔴 Nga Toa o Te Raki – North
🔴 Te Hau Marangai – East
🔴 Te Hau Taitonga – South
🔴 Te Hauauru ki Tawhiti – West

Four rohe. Four identities. One shared whakapapa.

Now, we come together as ONE Queensland Maori whanau, united under one jersey.

🏉 OUR 2026 REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

We proudly acknowledge and congratulate our selected players across:

❤️ U13 Kotiro
❤️ U13 Tama
❤️ U15 Kotiro
❤️ U15 Tama
❤️ U17 Kotiro
❤️ U17 Tama
❤️ U19 Tama
❤️ Open Wahine
❤️ Open Tane

TO OUR RANGATAHI – THIS IS BIGGER THAN RUGBY LEAGUE. 🌿

When you put on that Queensland Maori jersey, you carry your whakapapa, whanau, rohe and the sacrifices of everyone who helped you reach this moment.

You also carry the mana of your tupuna who walked before you.

This journey and many more to come is about discovering who you are whilst residing here in australia, understanding where you come from and standing proudly in your Maori identity.

Our jerseys are symbols of identity, belonging, responsibility and pride. Every time you take the field, remember that you represent more than yourselves, you represent the generations before you and those still to come.

Success is measured not only by tries, tackles or wins, but by your character, discipline, humility, respect and the way you uphold the mana of your jersey on and off the field.

TO OUR WHANAU – THIS MOMENT BELONGS TO YOU TOO. ❤️

Behind every player is a whanau who has made sacrifices through early starts, late-night training, long drives, fees, uniforms and endless encouragement.

To our parents, caregivers, grandparents, aunties, uncles and wider whanau, thank you. Your support makes opportunities like this possible.

OUR CULTURE IS OUR STRENGTH. 🌿

Queensland Maori Rugby League is about more than developing talented players. It is about keeping our culture alive, strengthening connections and creating opportunities for Maori communities in Queensland to come together.

Although we live away from our ancestral whenua in Aotearoa, our whakapapa, tikanga, manaakitanga and whanaungatanga remain at the heart of who we are.

Through rugby league, we are creating pathways for our rangatahi to grow as athletes, leaders and proud Maori.

What began as four rohe competing at Nga Hau e Wha has become something even more special: players standing shoulder to shoulder as ONE Queensland Maori representative whanau.

🏆 NEXT STOP – TE WHENUA ARIKI 2026!

Our first tournament together will be Te Whenua Ariki.

We look forward to seeing our teams take the field with passion, determination, humility and pride as they represent Queensland Maori.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS & MIHI ❤️

A heartfelt mihi to our QMSI Executive Committee, four rohe, coaches, managers, trainers, selectors, volunteers and everyone who helped make this representative campaign possible.

To our players, congratulations on your selection. Wear your jersey with pride, support your teammates and always remember the people and whakapapa you represent.

You have already made your whanau and communities proud.

FOUR ROHE. ONE WHANAU. ONE JERSEY. ONE PURPOSE. 🖤🤍❤️

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.

My strength is not mine alone, but the strength of many.

Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui!

Join us in congratulating our 2026 Queensland Maori Representative Teams and show your support as they prepare for Te Whenua Ariki 2026.

Thank you FerrisFotos for the awesome photos of our teams.
