ETHAN MITCHELL | 2026 FQPL 1 GOLDEN BOOT 🥇

From a season cut short by injury to the league’s leading scorer.

Congratulation to 22-year-old forward Ethan Mitchell on claiming a share of the 2026 FQPL 1 Golden Boot following an outstanding 13-goal campaign.

Ethan joined the Dolphins’ U23 program in 2023, helping secure the FQPL 2 Premiership and Grand Final Championship while earning opportunities in First Grade.

After a succession of injuries—and a final setback that brought his 2025 season to a premature end—Ethan returned to establish himself in First Grade, finishing the 2026 campaign alongside Brisbane Strikers’ Matthew Thurtell as the competition’s joint leading scorer.

“The Golden Boot wasn’t among my goals for this year, so it’s special to share it with someone of Matthew Thurtell’s calibre.”

“It wouldn’t have been possible without the players around me, the coaching staff—particularly Rick and the trust he placed in me—and everyone at the club. I feel grateful to be part of what is happening at Broadbeach United.”

In 2027, our Senior Men will compete in the National Premier Leagues (NPL) for the first time since Broadbeach United was established in 1963 — a proud milestone following a period of steady progression since 2020.

Traditionally, strong junior pathways help build success at senior level. At Broadbeach United, our journey has taken a different path — our senior program has reached Queensland’s top flight first, built on strong culture, commitment and sustained progress.

That achievement gives our junior players and coaches something tangible to aspire towards as we continue strengthening the pathway beneath it.

We are now inviting EOIs from passionate and committed Junior Coaches who want to develop young players, grow as coaches and help shape the future of Broadbeach United.

FINALS BOUND 🐬⚽️

Congratulations to both our FQPL4 Men and U23s on once again securing finals football after what has been a testing season for both squads.

Both sides are on the road this weekend.

Our U23s travel across the border today to Jim Devine Field, where they face Premiership winners Northern Rivers in a huge semi-final clash.

Tomorrow, our First Grade head to Duncan McKenna Field for a Battle of the Beaches against Palm Beach, kicking off at 3:00pm.

A credit to the players, coaches and staff for earning the opportunity to compete in final series.

Two teams. Two semi-finals. Everything to play for.
