🥇 HISTORY-MAKING DOUBLE FOR DAVIES 🥇

What an extraordinary Commonwealth Games for Hunter Academy of Sport alumni Rose Davies, who has raced to gold in the Women’s 5000m! 🏃‍♀️⚡

Rose produced a brilliant sprint finish to narrowly edge Australian teammate Jessica Hull, crossing the line in 14:44.53 and securing an incredible Australian one-two.

After also winning the 10,000m earlier in the Games, Rose has become the first woman in Commonwealth Games history to complete the 5000m and 10,000m double!

Two races. Two gold medals. One history-making campaign. 🥇🥇

Australian Athletics Regional Academies Of Sport Glasgow 2026

🥎HAS ALUMNI – GRACE WRIXON🥎

Earlier this year, HAS Alumni Grace Wrixon earned selection in the 2026 Aussie Spirit Team. Grace is set to represent Australia with the Aussie Spirit as the team begins its campaign at the USA Softball International Cup in Oklahoma tomorrow.

Taking place from 31 July – 4 August at Devon Park, the venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the tournament will see Australia face some of the world's strongest softball nations, including the USA, Japan, Canada, China and American Samoa.

The event is a key milestone in the Aussie Spirit's journey towards the 2027 Women's Softball World Cup Finals and the 2028 Olympic Games, making Grace's selection an outstanding achievement.

We're incredibly proud to see Grace representing Australia on the international stage. Be sure to keep an eye on the Aussie Spirit as the tournament gets underway tomorrow!

🥉BRONZE FOR LEWIS🥉

Hunter Academy of Sport alumna Torrie Lewis has rewritten the Australian record books once again, storming to a Commonwealth Games bronze medal in the women's 100m while lowering her own Australian record to a blistering 10.99 seconds.

The first Australian woman to break the 11-second barrier, Torrie continues to redefine what's possible for Australian sprinting and inspire the next generation of regional athletes chasing their dreams.

From the Regional Academies of Sport pathway to becoming Australia's fastest woman ever – this is history in the making!
