How adults behave on the sideline shapes how kids behave on the field.

That is not an opinion, it is what the research consistently shows.

So encourage them. Applaud good cricket from either side. Leave the coaching to the coach and the umpiring to the umpire.

The best thing most of us can do on a Saturday morning is clap, and let them play.

We are so excited to be offering our first ever all-girls January carnival, that we have decided to extend EOIs. We have eight teams locked in, and didn't want anyone else missing out on joining the fun.

Expressions of interested should be submitted by authorised representatives of your 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 if they would like to field a team in our inaugural 2027 U13 Girls January Carnival:

🏏 𝗨𝟭𝟯 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 (our first!) - 4-7 January 2027

Our January Carnivals provide young cricketers with a fun, inclusive and development-focused experience.

Please note that EOIs are not assessed on a first-in basis. All applications received by the closing date will be considered by the NJCA Carnival Committee before invitations are issued.

This season we are raising the bar on sidelines and coaching.

Most of our parents, coaches and spectators do the right thing every single weekend. That is the real standard at NJCA, and this season we are holding it.

Over the next few weeks we will share what that looks like for parents, for coaches, and for the umpires who make our game possible.

And reminding everyone that junior cricket belongs to the kids who play it.
