🏁 BHKC IS HEADING TO SA! 🏁

Alright guys, we have 4 of our racers heading over to the Go Kart Club of South Australia today! 💪🏻🏎️

Today is all about practice, learning the track and getting those laps in, before they line up on Sunday to compete in the River City Titles! 🏆🔥

For three of our racers, this will be their very first time tackling this track, while Emma has raced here before and has a little experience under her belt! It’s going to be a big learning curve for the crew, but boy, are they KEEN!! 😍🏁

We also have to give a special shoutout to our girls, Emma and Charlotte, who are both the ONLY GIRLS in their respective classes! 💗💪🏻 That in itself deserves some recognition! Get out there girls and show them what our BHKC girls can do! 👊🏻🔥

To all four of our racers, try your hardest, learn as much as you can and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Enjoy the experience and represent Broken Hill Kart Club with pride! ❤️🏁

🏁 BROKEN HILL TOOK ON MILDURA TODAY! 🏁

What a day for our Broken Hill Kart Club crew! 💪🏻

We started out with a warm one, and our drivers got stuck straight into some awesome racing throughout the day. We are so proud of all our racers and the way they represented BHKC both on and off the track! 🏎️💨

We also had some great results come home with the crew:

🥉 Cadet 9 — Emma Ruhs — 3rd Place
🥈 Cadet 12 — Zaiden Staker — 2nd Place
🥈 Junior Light — Laykin Cullen — 2nd Place
🥉 Senior Medium — Ryder Sanderson — 3rd Place

Some fantastic podium results amongst a great day of racing for our Broken Hill crew! 🏆

A huge well done to all of our drivers who made the trip over regardless of where you finished, you did our club proud and it was great seeing plenty of Broken Hill colours out on track! ❤️💙

Thanks to Mildura Kart Club for having us and putting on another great club day. We always enjoy heading over and supporting our neighbouring club! 🙌🏻

🏁 ROUND 7 COMPLETE! 🏁

And that’s a wrap on Round 7! ☀️💨🏎️

It was a hot, windy and very dusty day out at the track today! We had a couple of technical issues thrown our way, but thanks to everyone pitching in, we were able to work through them and keep the day moving.

Overall, today went really well and it was great to see everyone back out on track enjoying some racing! 🙌

A massive thank you to everyone who attended today, our drivers, families, officials, volunteers, canteen helpers and spectators. Days like today simply don’t happen without people giving up their time and lending a hand, and we really appreciate every single one of you. ❤️

Despite the heat, wind and dust, there was plenty of great racing, good sportsmanship and smiles around the track!

We’re getting very close to the end of our 2026 season now, and it’s been incredible to see the continued support for our little club throughout the year.

Thank you again for another great day at Broken Hill Kart Club! 🏁❤️

It’s race day eve! 🙌 Round 7 of the Broken Hill Karting Club Championship is happening TOMORROW – Sunday, 20 September! 🏎️💨

⏰ Gates open from 7:00am
👀 FREE entry for spectators
🍔 Canteen open – plenty of food, cold drinks & snacks available
💳 EFTPOS available
🚻 Toilet facilities available
🏁 Racing action throughout the day!

The weather is warming up, the karts are ready and we’re looking forward to another great day at the track. Bring the family, bring some chairs, grab something from the canteen and come enjoy some local karting action! 💛🖤

💛 A HUGE THANK YOU TO COMMONWEALTH BANK BROKEN HILL! 💛

We were lucky enough to receive two brand-new blowers, generously donated to the club by the Commonwealth Bank Broken Hill Branch! 🙌

These will be a fantastic addition to our track equipment and will help enormously with keeping our in-grid and out-grid areas clean and ready to go on race days. 🏁

We are incredibly fortunate to have local businesses and organisations continuing to get behind our club. It means so much to have the support of our local Commonwealth Bank branch and to have them recognise just how far Broken Hill Kart Club has come over the past two years. ❤️

Our club continues to grow and improve, and donations like this make a genuine difference to our volunteers and help us keep making our facilities better for our members, drivers and visitors.

❤️🏁 A VERY SPECIAL RECOGNITION – SHARON HOCKING 🏁❤️

At tonight’s AGM, we had the opportunity to recognise someone who has played an incredibly important part in the story of the Broken Hill Kart Club – Sharon Hocking.

While we had hoped to recognise Sharon with a Life Membership, under our constitution a Life Membership requires 10 years of service. Although Sharon hasn’t quite reached that milestone, we certainly weren’t going to let that stop us from recognising the enormous contribution she has made to our club.

Sharon was presented with a special gift as a small token of appreciation for the countless hours, hard work, determination and passion she has poured into BHKC. ❤️

Sharon was instrumental in getting this club up and running and helping turn an idea into the club we are so proud to have today. So much of what our members and families now get to enjoy was made possible because people like Sharon were willing to put in the work behind the scenes when the club was getting started.

From the early days, through all the challenges that come with establishing and growing a kart club, Sharon has given so much of her time and energy to help get BHKC to where it is today.

Tracks, facilities, race meetings and clubs don’t simply happen. They are built by people who volunteer their time, keep showing up, solve problems, rally people together and believe in what they are trying to create.

Sharon has been one of those people.

While tonight’s gift could never truly represent the amount of time and effort Sharon has given, we hope it serves as a reminder of just how appreciated she is and how significant her contribution has been.

On behalf of the Broken Hill Kart Club committee, members, racers and families — thank you, Sharon. ❤️

Thank you for helping get this club started.
Thank you for the hours nobody saw.
Thank you for sticking with it through the hard parts.
And thank you for helping build the club that so many of us now get to call home.
