A fighting finish to a season to be proud of 🖤🤍

Our State League 3 men finished the season with a 2–2 draw at home against Epping City, coming from behind twice with a goal in each half.

We couldn’t quite find the winner, but it’s a strong way to close out the campaign – five wins and a draw from our final six matches, securing a top-half finish and giving us plenty to be proud of.

⚽ McBrearty

The Reserves also signed off with a win, capping off a fantastic season for a group that secured the league title. A great way to finish.

To our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters – thank you for everything this season. Through the highs and lows, you’ve been with us all the way.

Here’s to what’s next. 🦓♥

2026 Brunswick Zebras Salami Night: the crown changes hands again! 🇮🇹👑

Wednesday night was the tastiest night of the year with the annual Brunswick Zebras Salami Night held at the home of football – Sumner Park. Once again, proud Italian families and members of the wider Metro Men’s group gathered for an evening of salami, rivalry and questionable judging.

After their triumph last year, the Roca family have been dethroned, with the Bertolacci family claiming the crown for 2027 with a salami deemed worthy of royal status. 👑

The deposed former King, Frankie Condello, could only manage a second-place finish this year – a remarkable fall from grace after his recent three consecutive victories.

And in perhaps the most controversial result of the evening, the decoy salami somehow finished third, proving once again that our judges' taste is, at best, highly dubious. 🤨

Most importantly, the evening raised funds for the Brunswick Zebras Hardship Fund, helping support members of our club community who need a hand. The fund is also generously supported by our partners at Community Bank Clifton Hill-North Fitzroy Huge thanks to them for helping the club stand beside our members and their families during times of financial difficulty. Tax deductible donations can be made here: https://asf.org.au/campaigns/brunswick-zebras-football-club-inc/brunswick-zebras-hardship-fund

Another great night of food, fun, Italian culture and community building at the Zebras. Thanks to everyone who brought a salami, joined the judging panel, or simply came along for the fun.
