We were excited to make our second visit to Fishermans Road Markets in Maroochydore, and this time we brought a little extra fun to our stall! πŸ’™

With our bright blue setup, a bubble machine 🫧 and a carnival game πŸŽͺ, we definitely stood out among the amazing stallholders and it was fantastic seeing so many families stop by, have a play and check out what we had on offer.

There was plenty of colour, plenty of bubbles and lots of smiles throughout the day! 😍

A huge thank you to everyone who came over to say hello and support us. We loved being part of the market again and can’t wait for the next one! πŸ’¦πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ’œ Today is Wear It Purple Day, a day to recognise the youth of the LGBTQIA+SB community.

This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, reminds us that bravery isn't always loud. It’s found in the everyday choices to live proudly, stand beside a friend, and invite others into understanding and acceptance.

At BlueFit, our purpose is Inspiring Community Activity, and that starts with building spaces where absolutely everyone feels safe to participate and play.

Don't forget to show your support for the LGBTQIA+SB community by wearing a touch of purple, and starting conversations about what inclusion and support means to you!

πŸ’› Yellow wristbands help our team quickly identify children aged 5 years and under, reminding everyone that they require constant, active adult supervision.

It's a simple but important safety measure that supports our Watch Around Water policy and helps keep our youngest swimmers safe. πŸ’›

As we look towards the warmer months and the inviting oceans and pools begin to call us back, now is the perfect time to refresh ourselves on some important water safety reminders! β˜€οΈπŸŒŠ

Whether you're heading to the beach, your local pool or enjoying time by the water with family, a few simple habits can make all the difference.

πŸ§’ Keep Children Within Arm's Reach:
Young children can get into difficulty in seconds, even in shallow water. Always stay close enough to reach them immediately and avoid distractions such as mobile phones. Active adult supervision is one of the most effective ways to prevent drowning.

At Buderim Aquatic Centre, our staff actively help ensure our pool rules are followed by providing friendly reminders and guidance when needed. These reminders are there to keep everyone safe and to ensure all visitors can enjoy a positive experience at our facility. 😊

🏊 WORLD DROWNING PREVENTION DAY 2026 🏊

Drowning is an issue that affects every nation of the world. Globally, more than 300,000 people lose their lives to drowning every year. Drowning predominately impacts children and young people, and in Australia, hundreds of families lose loved ones to drowning every year.

Because drowning predominantly impacts children and young people, At BlueFit we are taking this opportunity to remind families of our supervision policies, which are in place to help keep our community safe in and around the water.

What you need to know:
πŸ‘Ά Children aged 0–5 and all non swimmers: Must be within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian at all times. This means the adult must be actively in the water with the child.
πŸ§β€β™€οΈ Children aged 6–10: Must be closely and actively supervised. Maintain constant visual contact and be ready to enter the water.
⛔️ Minimise distractions: Put away mobile phones, avoid lengthy conversations, and stay clear of any distractions that can cause a fatal lapse in attention.

Every small step we individually take can help save lives.

πŸ’™ You can also join the global movement to promote water safety by Going Blue! On the 25th of July, we encourage our community to show their support by wearing blue to the pool, whether it is a blue swimsuit, blue swim cap, or simply bringing a blue towel.

It was such a lovely gathering. There is an incredible sense of friendship that makes our aqua classes so special. Seeing everyone come together to celebrate this milestone was truly heartwarming.
