Herbal adaptogens are plant derived compounds that enhance the ability of any living thing to adapt and survive stress.

Adaptogens are stress response modifiers that support a person’s resistance to various stressors – physical, chemical and biological. They strengthen organ systems that are comprised by stress and support to normalise bodily functions. Adaptogens enable the body to cope with stress without increasing any oxygen consumption, activate cellular defence mechanisms, trigger signalling pathways to enhance resilience to oxidative stress.

Adaptogens can prevent and manage stress related disorders, including chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, inflammation, and autoimmune disorders. In addition to supporting stress adaptation, they can improve metabolic function, enhance mental and physical performance which contributes to overall well-being.

Wow KS is 6 years old!

Those who don’t know our story….where did we start??

Let’s look back to 2020….COVID!

Kym and Sue had been friends for around 18 months working alongside each other, getting to know each other and realising our values surrounding health and fitness totally aligned!

Once all of life closed down, both ladies realised that they wanted to continue to work alongside each other. Beginning online with Facebook live then recorded exercise sessions, so all our lovely members could get some exercise in their own homes.

Fast forward past all the closed down world stage. Kym and Sue then moved forward utilising a local church hall, local football club outdoor premises, a small local gym environment…..and then their OWN premises!

Starting out with only small group fitness sessions to Small Group Classes, Exercise Physiologist NDIS sessions, Personal Training sessions, and Naturopathic sessions. Alongside this many other programs being offered throughout the years.

We have built such a wonderfully heart-warming community throughout the years, and it feels amazing to be able to give so much back to the community.

Thank you from our full hearts to all those who have supported us.

Regular physical activity is showing to have beneficial impacts on mental health, with studies looking at both short bursts and extended periods of activity.
Regular exercise has effects such as lowering systemic inflammation, lowering cortisol levels, alongside positively enhancing mood, increasing self-esteem and decreasing stress tendencies.

Physical activity has been shown to increases expression of plasma brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in the hippocampus. BDNF is involved in the development and maintenance of neurons in the brain, with research showing that BDNF levels are often reduced in individuals with mental health disorders.

Physical activity is an effective strategy to increase circulation levels of BDNF and improving brain function. BDNF plays a crucial role in mental health by improving the brains’ ability for learning and memory, cognitive function, and mood regulation.

Physical activity does this via the process of metabolic stress and promotion of neural growth in the brain.

Choose a physical activity that fits into your lifestyle, and with what you enjoy!
You are then not only supporting the physical aspect, but the mental aspect.
