22 teams played Cash Pairs today sponsored by the Friday Railways players. Bruce Dobreigh and Colin Bartlett won the day with 2 +38. Second place went to Barry Mickle and Bill Cream with 2 + 30, including an 8. Anne Blechynden and Mick Spadaccini were third with 2 + 22. Fourth went to Ted Pelusey and Barry Carlson with 2 + 8 and Derek Collins and Anna McGuiness were fifth with 2 + 5.
A friendly reminder to check the nomination board by the South door. There are several events imminent including this Saturday and Sunday.

Opening day yesterday saw great conditions even if the easterly was trying.

34 players came along for the day.

The format for the was great fun and was definitely challenging for some. Afternoon tea was awesome and thanks to everyone who brought a plate of food to share.

Several nomination sheets have just gone up on the board for events in September. Starting with Jetline cash pairs this Saturday, followed by 100UP on Sunday, then Championship mixed pairs followed by veterans singles championship. So make sure you get your name down in time or text me on 0498 263 398 if you can't get to the club in person.

Perfect weather for our opening day, life member Laurie Blurton and Men’s
Vice Captain gave a small welcome speech, our Patron Lorna Dorsett wised all players a successful year, but most of all to enjoy your bowls.
Spider winners ladies Betty Miller men Tony Pelle both receiving a bottle of wine for their skilful bowling.
After the game members and friends enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea

Friends, Bunburyites, countrymen, lend me your ears because tomorrow is opening day for the 2026/27 season. So don’t be shy and come along for a great day of bowls. 12pm for a 12:30pm start.
