π Quiet Access Sensory Sessions are here to stay! π
Following a highly successful trial and overwhelmingly positive feedback from our community, South West Sports Centre's Quiet Access Sensory Sessions are now a permanent part of our weekly schedule.
These sessions were introduced to create a calmer, more inclusive environment for individuals who may be sensitive to busy or high-stimulation settings. Since launching, they have been warmly embraced by participants and families, helping more people feel comfortable and confident accessing our facilities.
During Quiet Access Sensory Sessions, we:
π΅ Lower music levels across the centre
π¦ Turn off water features in our Aquatic Centre
π Encourage a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere
Session Times
βͺ Wednesdays | 2:00pm β 3:00pm
βͺ Fridays | 7:30am β 8:00am
βͺ Sundays | 3:00pm β 4:00pm
All members and casual visitors are welcome during these times. We kindly ask everyone attending to be mindful and help maintain a calm, low-stimulation environment.
While we take all reasonable steps to minimise noise and distractions, the facility cannot be completely free of stimuli. For individuals with higher sensory needs, personal support strategies or attending with a carer may still be beneficial.
We're proud to continue offering these sessions as part of our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive and accessible space for everyone in our community.

π§ Important Access Update β South West Sports Centre π§
From Monday, 15 June 2026, the footpath and pram ramp leading into the South West Sports Centre from the Wimbledon Way main car park will be replaced as part of ongoing maintenance and accessibility improvements.
The works are expected to take approximately three days and will include:
πΉ Day 1 β Removal of existing concrete
πΉ Day 2 β Pouring of new concrete
πΉ Day 3 β Site clean-up and curing time for the new concrete
During this period:
β οΈ The existing footpath and pram ramp will be closed.
πΆ Pedestrians will be directed to access the entrance of the Centre via a temporary alternative route further up the footpath near the No Parking Bay.
βΏ A temporary ramp will also be installed near the No Parking Bay to ensure there remains accessible entry to the Centre.
π A section of the internal roadway will be closed to traffic however, vehicles and buses will still be able to navigate around the closure and exit the car park as normal.
Please follow all on-site signage and directions from workers and staff while the works are underway.

We need your help with a very important decision... πΆ
As we start planning our next Puppy Pilates sessions (cue excited screams), we've found ourselves facing a serious dilemma:
πΎ Border Collie puppies
OR
πΎ Golden Retriever puppies
The good news? There are no wrong answers!
The bad news? We can't stop looking at puppy photos long enough to decide. π
So, let's have some fun!
π React with a LIKE for Border Collies
β€οΈ React with a HEART for Golden Retrievers
Whichever breed joins us next, we know there'll be plenty of puppy cuddles, wagging tails and happy faces all round.
And while you're here, tag the friend who's definitely joining you for a Puppy Pilates session (or who needs some puppy therapy in their life π).
