About the Charity Shield:

The Shield is held currently by FMR Football Margaret River (Soccer Club).

The Charity Shield is a ceremonial season opener. In some jurisdictions it is called the Community Shield.

It is played between the immediate previous season winner of the Premier League and the winner of the South West Soccer Association Cup.

The current version goes back to the start of the SWSA, many teams have held it. Traditionally various administrations have used it to raise funds for good causes. Recent examples being Cancer Charities, Cantoni Cup, street kids charity and the like.

An example of its development in other jurisdictions is the FA Community Shield in the UK. The FA Charity Shield, as it was formerly known, was first played for in 1908. It evolved from the “Sheriff of London Shield” fixture that had been played annually between a leading professional club and a leading amateur club.

We now have a new shield as the previous one crumpled. We remodeled it and made a new shield. We also have a NEW Women’s Charity Shield which will be presented for the first time this Sunday.

Perth Glory are coming to town!

💜 PERTH GLORY COMING TO BUNBURY 💜

Perth Glory is heading back to Bunbury for another pre-season friendly!

The club has today announced its A-League Men’s team will take on the Newcastle Jets at Hay Park on Sunday 29 September with kick-off at 3pm.

We’ll not only be lucky enough to see some of the country’s best soccer stars on the pitch, but they’ll also be holding a holiday clinic and an open training session in an opportunity to meet both Glory and Jets players.

We’re thrilled to welcome the club back to Bunbury following the Glory’s Women’s team playing games here in 2017 and 2019, with the Men’s team following suit by taking on Melbourne Victory last year.

2024 SWSA Cup Final
Sunday, 22nd September 2024
Hosted by Hay Park United Soccer Club , Bunbury

The Premier Ladies round 2 fixture, FMR & DPR, is to be played 7pm on 12th September at FMR, the winner will go through to the SWSA Cup Final.

LIQUOR LICENSE:
Hay Park United SC venue has a liquor license and everyone is encouraged to follow the Liquor License regulations.
Take-away alcohol or alcohol consumed outside of the licensed area will not be tolerated.
The licensed area will be restricted to the clubrooms and veranda outside of the function room window.
Please report to Hay Park United SC President Brendan Fantasia of any consumption of alcohol outside of the licensed area.

RESPECT THE OFFICIALS AND THE FACILITY.
There is a zero tolerance to disrespect of referees, officials, ground marshals and the facilities.
Clubs, please ensure your members abide by the Code of Conduct outlined in the 2024 SWSA Bylaws.
Please report any damage to facilities or inappropriate behaviour to Club President Brendan Fantasia.

CHANGEROOMS:
Designated changerooms will be advised on the doors of the changerooms.

Buses are required to be parked near the BMX track.

CROSS BAR CHALLENGE
Hay Park United SC are hosting a ‘cross bar challenge’ at halftime during the Men’s League game.
Limited tickets can be purchased from the bar. $10 entry and prizes to be won.
