BBI FOB ACCESS UPDATE
As our volunteer group continues to grow, we’re working to tighten up our processes around stadium access and make sure our fob register is accurate and up to date.
We’ve recently purchased additional fobs so the appropriate volunteers have access to the areas they need. We also have some existing fobs that are currently unaccounted for, which creates a security risk for our stadium and resources.
DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A BBI FOB?
If you have a stadium access fob, we need to hear from you.
Please email:

IMPORTANT DEADLINE
Any fobs that have not been accounted for will be deactivated on Saturday 12 September.
$40 FOB DEPOSIT
New fobs come at a cost, and this is a cost we don’t want to pass on to our playing members through increased fees.
To help manage this, anyone holding a stadium access fob will now be required to provide a $40 cash deposit.
Once you have emailed your fob details, we will arrange collection of the deposit.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO OUR BBI DADS
Today we celebrate all the dads, stepdads, grandads and father figures who make basketball happen, often through all the little things that might go unnoticed.
The early morning drop-offs and late-night pick-ups.
The endless kilometres to Friday Night Juniors, training & carnivals.
The scorebench shifts and volunteer jobs.
The bags carried, water bottles filled and uniforms somehow found five minutes before leaving home.
The driveway one-on-ones.
The “one more shot” that turns into another half an hour.
The sideline clapping, cheering and encouragement.
The post-game debriefs in the car.
The pep talks after a tough loss and the celebrations after a great game.
And of course... the money spent on basketball shoes.
Some cheer. Some coach. Some score. Some volunteer. Some barely know what the ref just called... but they’re there.
Thank you to all our BBI basketball dads and father figures for the time, support and encouragement you give our players and our basketball community.
Happy Father’s Day from everyone at Bundaberg Basketball.

In 2026, Basketball Australia introduced a new Coach Development Framework, aligning accreditation to where you coach and focusing on ongoing development. We encourage all coaches to understand the new framework and take the next step in their journey.
Who its for: For coaches leading teams in structured junior and senior domestic club competitions across a full season.
Typical competitions and programs include:
🏀 Local junior domestic competitions (e.g. U12–U18 domestic leagues)
🏀Local club-based competitions run by associations
🏀Community-level representative competitions
Focus: Developing individual skills, teaching team systems and preparing players for consistent competition.
Qualification Level: Coaches enter the Competition pathway at Bronze level and progress to Silver and Gold by continuing to coach and completing approved professional development to meet the required Coach Development Points.
We are excited to offer this high level of coaching accreditation to our members here in Bundaberg.
Register to secure your spot. BBI will be working with all coaches to ensure you have the opportunity to have the appropriate accreditations for our members

U12 CQJBC SEASON WRAP
And just like that, our U12 CQJBC season is complete! Across three CQJBC carnivals, we’ve watched our youngest rep players grow in confidence, develop as teammates and proudly represent Bundaberg Basketball.
U12 BULLS - DIVISION 1 GOLD MEDALLISTS
What a season for our Bulls! Finishing the CQJBC season as Division 1 Gold Medallists is an incredible achievement and something this group should be extremely proud of. Across the three carnivals, we watched this team continue to develop, compete and come together. The work they have put in throughout the season has paid off, and that gold medal is a fantastic reward for their commitment.
U12 BEARS – DIVISION 1
From the 1st CQJBC through to the 3rd CQJBC, the improvement in this group was clear. They continued to close the gap, reduce point differentials and compete harder. But one of the things we are most proud of is the feedback received throughout the season about this team. Their sportsmanship, attitude and genuine love of the game did not go unnoticed. They kept showing up, kept working and kept enjoying their basketball regardless of the result. That is something worth celebrating.
U12 BULLS MAROON - DIVISION 2
The difference in our Bulls Maroon team between where they started and where they finished was fantastic to see. Point differentials continued to come down, they became more competitive and, most importantly, they never stopped having a crack. Throughout the season, this group earned plenty of positive feedback for the way they played the game, supported one another and represented Bundaberg Basketball. For a young development team, that growth is exactly what we want to see.
TO OUR COACHES & MANAGERS…
A huge thank you to the coaches and managers who have given so much of their time, energy and support to our U12 teams throughout the CQJBC season. To Wayne, Maree & Dylan with our Bulls, Reaghan & CJ with our Bears, and Scott & Jake with our Bulls Maroon, thank you for the work you have put into developing and encouraging our players. And to our Managers Shanze (Bulls), Michelle (Bears) and Josh (Bulls Maroon), thank you for everything you do behind the scenes to keep our teams organised and supported. We are incredibly grateful to have you all as part of our U12 Rep Program.
AND TO OUR FAMILIES & PLAYERS...
Thank you to all of our parents and families for the kilometres travelled, early mornings, weekends away, cheering from the sidelines and everything that happens behind the scenes to give these kids these opportunities.
But most importantly, congratulations to our players.
Whether you finished CQJBC with a gold medal around your neck or simply as a much better basketball player than the one who started the season, there is plenty to be proud of.
Now all three teams turn their attention to the next challenge... Basketball Queensland U12 State Championships commencing 24 September!

AUSSIE HOOPS | U12 BEARS 🐻🏀
There was plenty of energy on court at Aussie Hoops this weekend!
With Coach Katrina away - Coach Reaghan, Sophie, Phoenix and our U12 Bears stepped in to help run the session and give our youngest players a special morning of basketball.
From helping with drills and skills with plenty of energy, encouragement and high fives, our Bears did a fantastic job getting involved and making sure everyone had fun.
We love seeing our rep players giving back to the program and being positive role models for the younger kids coming through BBI. For our Aussie Hoopers, getting to learn from and play alongside some of the “big kids” is pretty special too.
A huge thank you to Coach Reaghan, Sophie, Phoenix and our U12 Bears for stepping up and bringing such great energy to the court.
Judging by the smiles (and the last photo 😂), it was a pretty successful morning!
