SHOWCASE UPDATE from our organisers

I am aiming to have the Run Sheet for this Saturday finalised by COB today 🎉 There are a few who expressed interest but haven’t completed the form yet - if your child would like to perform please complete the registration form even if you are unable to pay the rego fee today. You can select “No” to the payment confirmation section and do that another time! We are pretty flexible, so if more regos come through later this week that’s fine also, but anyone who definitely knows they want to perform we would love to allocate you!

Please remember that students DO NOT have to have a completed routine to enter. Some performers are self-choreographing, some are improv and others have partial routines that will fade out/improv as required. There are no categories or placings - it’s a showcase of where each student is in their acro and aerial journey and there’s something to be celebrated in everyone. Each performance whether improv, self-chorey or otherwise, will be introduced as such so students can be correctly encouraged and recognised for their efforts. Judging is OPTIONAL and will be feedback based, not points or medals.

I know for my girls that just having opportunities to perform has helped them so much. Adeline used to cry every time she had to get up there! Sometimes just showing up, facing fears and getting used to faces looking back at you is the first step in a performer’s journey. Having performance opportunity that wasn’t a competitive setting benefited Adeline so much and enabled her to get her confidence back in front of an audience. There’s always something to learn every time they hit the stage!

Our Showcase has something for everyone! We have students of all ages and experience levels taking the stage—from recreational students who have learnt something in just one lesson, to seasoned competitors, self-choreographed performances, improv acts, and of course, our Team Australia athletes. It’s going to be an incredible afternoon celebrating every stage of the journey.

If you’ve been wanting to perform but aren’t sure if you’re “ready,” this is the perfect opportunity. 🌟 Announcing our Special Guest Judge… Welcome back, Miss Krystal Brown! 🌟

We are so excited to welcome Miss Krystal back to Ovation! 💙

Krystal holds a special place in the hearts of so many of our students, and for the past year we’ve constantly been asked, “When is Miss Krystal coming back?” Well… the wait is finally over!

We can’t wait for her to see just how much everyone has grown and improved since she was last here.

Growing up in dance and acrobatics, Krystal has competed successfully in many acro competitions and understands first-hand the dedication, resilience and countless hours of training it takes to succeed in our sport.

She also has a special place in Ovation’s history as one of our very first students to qualify for Nationals, after earning 2nd place at the Brisbane National Qualifier—an incredible achievement and a milestone for our studio.

With her experience as both a competitor and mentor, we’re so excited to have Krystal join us as our special guest judge. We know she’ll bring thoughtful feedback, encouragement, and a genuine passion for helping our athletes grow.

Welcome back, Miss Krystal! We can’t wait to have you with us again! 💙

Beyond the laughter, chatter and friendships that make our studio feel like home are countless moments of quiet determination. Students encouraging one another, embracing challenges, and showing up week after week with focus and heart. It’s these small, consistent moments that lead to the greatest growth, and they deserve to be celebrated.

We encourage all students to perform, regardless of their age, level, ability, or how long they have been training.

Our showcases are designed to be fun, supportive and low pressure, making them the perfect opportunity for students who are nervous about performing or trying the stage for the first time.

Performing helps students build:
⭐ Confidence
⭐ Resilience
⭐ Stage presence
⭐ Communication skills
⭐ The ability to step outside their comfort zone

These are skills that will benefit them not only as performers, but throughout school, future careers and everyday life.

Remember, the students who seem confident on stage today were once nervous beginners too. Confidence grows through experience, and every performer starts somewhere.

Private lessons are available in the lead-up to the showcase for students wanting extra help preparing.

Private lessons are just $25 for 30 minutes.
Acro students will require private lessons to be prepared. Please see miss Brianna in your class to organise a time

We can’t wait to celebrate our students and create another afternoon full of smiles, applause and special memories.
