Burnie Disc Golf League is back again this Sunday for JULY!

We want to say a massive thank you to Aus Flight Handling for again supporting the club and our league days this year.

Schedule is as follows;
9:15am Players Meeting
9:30am Tee Off

New players and beginners are welcome, this is your chance to discover this amazing sport for yourself. We have equipment available for all.

Entry is free for all Burnie Disc Golf Members and $5 for our visitors and new players. Under 12s Free, must be supervised by a parent/ guardian.

There will again be a couple of prizes up for grabs for our handicap winner and scratch winner on the day as well as entry into the ace pot (hole in one jackpot).

2026 Winter Classic Wrap Up

2 weeks ago, Burnie Disc Golf held its annual Winter Classic tournament. We had a true Winter Classic this year. Players toughed it out and got through 2 rounds in trying conditions, all to be crowned Winter Classic Champion. But after a day full of rain, players left the course a bit wet and cold, but still with smiles on their faces.

During the first round, Edward Hesline, in his first event competing in MPO, shot a smooth -2 round. This gave him a 3 shot lead over Sam Rubock at +1. In MA1, round 1 finished with a three way tie at +2 between Sean Gottschling, Brett Duffin and Edward Lancaster. And in the masters division, Darron Langerak shot a nice 2 under par, to give himself a decent 5 shot lead over Tim Jolly at 3 over par.

Then in round 2, Edward Hesline stayed consistent with a 1 under par round to extend his lead over Sam and win the MPO division. Sean also shot a -1 round to win MA1 by 1 shot over Brett, who finished the second round with a score of even par. But MA50 was where the big plot twist happened. Darron Langerak shot a respectable even par score for round 2, but Tim Jolly scored a red hot -7 to leapfrog into first place and become MA50 Winter Classic Champion.

A couple of weeks ago, on the 29th of March, Burnie Disc Golf held its annual Crayfish Cup tournament. The tournament was a great success with some beautiful weather and 2 awesome rounds of disc golf. Many players competed over multiple divisions, let’s check out some highlights:

Round 1 - Round 1 had lovely calm sunny conditions. In MA1, Edward Hesline threw well and avoided trouble to finish the first round at a respectable -6. Edward Lancaster sat 2 shots behind him at -4 and Matt Green rounded out the top 3, sitting 2 shots further back at -2. MA3 was another tightly contested battle after the first round, with Jed Quinn leading the way at 6 under par. Logan Butt and James Luttrel stayed within striking distance, shooting -3 and -1 respectively. The hot round of the day was shot by Bradley Smith in MA2, recording an impressive 9 under par first round. It was also awesome to see so many women competing at the Crayfish Cup. Grace Irwin led the way in the women’s divisions with a solid +2 first round.

Round 2 - Round 2 the wind picked up a little bit and gave the players something extra to deal with. Edward Hesline kept ahead of the pack, scoring 3 under par in the second round, to clinch MA1. Edward Lancaster dropped right off the pace, but Matt Green stayed consistent with another -2 and took second place. Brett Duffin’s solid round of even par pushed him up onto the podium as well. Jed Quinn became MA3’s champion, backing up his excellent first round with a -4 second round. The battle for second place was intense, but James Luttrel’s -3 round was enough to get the job done over Logan Butt, who finished third. The hot round this time was 5 under par by Sam Rubock in MPO, who seemed to enjoy the windier conditions. Grace stayed consistent backing up her first round with another +2, to finish as the winner of FA2.

Frisbee Golf Fridays Week 6 Layout (27th March) FINAL

This is a weekly 9 hole competition throughout the summer season taking place on Friday afternoons. The social event is family and beginner friendly and we have discs available to borrow or purchase if anyone needs one to get started.

Running for 6 weeks from Friday the 20th February to Friday the 27th March.

Weekly prizes and divisional season competition as well as hole in one jackpot. Womens standalone division as well as 3 mixed divisions available; Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner.

Weekly Entry is free for all Burnie Disc Golf Members who have paid and renewed their membership prior to Friday the 20th February.

Weekly Entry is free for all children aged 12 years and under and $2 for all adults and visitors.
