New Recruit for the Eagles 🦅

The club would like to welcome Patrick Page to the fold. He comes fresh off a drought breaking flag with the Bundaleer Rangers in the NACA last year with previous club captain Sam Mattey who is also returning this season for the Eagles.

Patrick comes to the club with a wealth of experience and ability. Previously contracted by South Australia, and playing A Grade district cricket for a number of years for Glenelg, Tea Tree Gully and Adelaide.

After moving to the country a couple years ago for work, Patrick played for Bundaleer the last two seasons quickly sparking success at the club, for the Rangers to only just miss finals in a year he won the association Cricketer of the Year. The following year he was a big part of leading them to the flag with not just his batting and bowling but also with his coaching and instillation of belief amongst the young fellas at the club.

Not only is he a handy cricketer but also a pretty handy bloke, with very good sense of humour that will slot right in at the Eagles.

The Burra cricket club AGM will be on Friday 28th of August at 7pm at the complex, anyone who is interested in playing or helping out is encouraged to attend

Looking for a fun evening out?
Head over to the Clare oval for the A1 round 12 match and watch the pink ball fly from 5pm when the Burra Eagles take on the Segars (Clare/Sevenhill).
Dinner is taken care of - pizza and chips available by the Pizza Master from 5pm, full bar open, PLUS kids bouncy castle entertainment.

Congratulations to Sam Mattey for his selection in the country cricket championship.

Sam has spent the past week in Western Australia playing alongside the best South Australia country cricketers.

From 9 games South Australia only managed to have 1 win but were very competitive in most of the games. These games were 50over and T20 games.

Sam playing 8 out of the 9 games finished with 196 runs and facing 252 balls with a average of 28.

Second most runs for South Australia being only 19 behind the leader and 11th most runs for the entire Australian carnival.

We congratulate Sam Mattey on a fantastic achievement in country cricket.

Sam is currently playing between Burra CC and Bundaleer CC. We wish Sam the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Congratulations to Life Member Boh Wall on his induction into the Australian Country Cricket Hall of Fame ✨

Boh began his cricket journey as a young boy with the Burra Cricket Club, and what a journey it has been.

An outstanding player and a true club man, Boh has dedicated countless hours both on and off the field. Even today, he continues to work behind the scenes, collating and updating records to ensure our club’s history is preserved for generations to come.

We wish Boh all the very best, recognising both the remarkable player he was and the person he continues to be 🤝
