A huge congratulations and THANK YOU to every umpire who stepped onto the court this season - and an extra special thank you to those who stepped up for Grand Final Day!
Umpires are such an important part of our game. They keep it fair, keep it moving and give our players the opportunity to simply get out there and play the game they love. It takes confidence, courage, knowledge and a whole lot of heart to pick up that whistle - and we are so grateful for every person who does.

For every Grand Final, our umpires chose a Player of the Match - recognising someone who played with heart, spirit, determination and great sportsmanship.
Congratulations to all of our SHNA Game Ball recipients! Such a special recognition to receive from the people right there on court with you.
And a HUGE thank you to all of our Umpire Conveners - at SHNA level and across our schools and clubs. There is so much work that happens behind the scenes to support, develop, encourage and organise our umpires each week, and our competition simply couldn’t run without you.
A very special thank you to Leesa and Amy for all of your hard work this year. The time, energy and support you give to our umpires and our association is so appreciated. 💛
And to anyone thinking about umpiring in 2027 - this is your sign!
Pick up the whistle. Have a go. Learn. Grow. Ask questions. Back yourself. You don’t have to know everything on day one - you just have to be willing to step onto the court and start.
Our game needs players.
Our game needs coaches.
Our game needs volunteers.
And our game absolutely needs UMPIRES.
