Friday 28th May is "World Menstrual Hygiene Day."
from our sister
That title itself raises all sorts of reactions.
Why for example is menstruation "unhygienic" when it is a natural function of a woman's body? Yet what of parts of the world where women don't have access to clean water or menstrual products? Or where using a moon cup violates religious beliefs? Or when it's safer to stop ovulation completely and instead take hormonal contraceptives in order to be able to work, go to ceremonies or school?
And what about the stigma that is STILL associated with menstruation ALL over the world? When women of every background and culture still feel shame about this blood of life? When PMS is still so misunderstood, and the emotional and physical discomfort that can be inherent to a woman's cycle has become normalised?
I do believe it is time for a revolution in women's health and this begins with reinstating respect for the menstrual cycle.
Please join me tomorrow for a live online panel in conversation for "World Menstrual Hygiene Day."
We have an electric group of women activists from around the world who will be sharing about their experiences personally and professionally.
The panel of women includes:
Kahayag Gabrielle Fay, Indonesia: Women's Rights Activist
Urmi Basu, India: Women's & Children's Rights Activist and founder of New Light Kolkata
Emily Kuser , USA: Women's Health advocate & Founder of High Vibe Yoga
Chocolako Agburu: USA/Nigeria: Fibroid Warrior and Founder of Yoga Innergy
There will be a time for Q & A.
The event is by donation with as little as $1 needed to register. Profits will go towards ending period poverty in Indonesia.
I can't wait to see you there! It is time for revolution in women's health and a global revival of respect for our cyclical wisdom.
The call is 5-7pm Bali time. Register here: www.Bit.ly/Blood-Of-Life

Mother’s Nest is back this Friday 10-12:30
Booking link in bio
Mother’s Nest is a collective of women who are passionate about helping new mothers to land into motherhood after embarking on the life changing journey of parenthood.
When a baby is born, so is a mother. Be it the first, second or third time around. The birth of a baby lasts a few hours, but the birth of the mother may last months, or even years. We acknowledge that “becoming a mother” is one of the biggest and most important rites of passage that a woman can go through.
At Mother’s Nest we create space for the mothers to integrate this huge experience by holding space for soothing, healing, getting precious insights, resting and and nourishment to take place. New mothers have specific needs, and we use them as our north to create a safe a cosy nest for mothers and babies to connect -with themselves and others.
Short meditation, pelvic movement, head and feet massage, serenades and elder wisdom sharing are just some of the fluffy leaves and feathers we are weaving into our Nest.
Babies in arms are welcome.
Looking forward to seeing you mummas.
Connect-Belong-Be nourished.
