Introductory form for Silat Perisai Diri Byron Bay. This form gives the students attacking techniques that need very little training to be effective. This way even if a student only trains for 1 month they have an ability to defend themselves.
From the beginning of my training we where always told that you can master PD just by training sikup. I always thought I understood this, but now after 30years I think I understand it.
Sikup and pukul need to be aligned, their actions need to be the same. So when you train sikup (correctly) then you are also training pukulan.
Master sikup !
I have been focusing on sikup for developing power and speed in my striking.
I have been going away from focusing on hindaran and focusing instead on blocking to achieve this. I believe hindar to be the most effective form of defense and blocking to be only used when needed as my instructor Stephen Colledge always taught. But focusing on blocking is giving me new strength and speed in my movement that I would not have found with training striking alone.

Training time has now changed, 5 30pm on thursdays (and tuesdays - only on notice). See you all here tonight. Harimau, powertraining , how to link core into legs and upper body for superior speed power and reaction time.
Tuesday nights will be working on grappling - strikes - to take down - to ground control and escapes.
again we will have to shift training as this thursday lands on new years. So we will train this tuesday night 29th dec - same time 6pm.
Focusing on power in gijlig and letut. agility with garuda and developing power with siku dalam. escape from a choke hold. See you all there.

Great train tonight. Kuntul basics, kuntul bag work and beladiri. serang hindar - serang belas, serang belas with beladiri, papasan laku and gerak. Breaking a bear-hug hold. Great to feel the magic of PD again. See you all on thursday.
