Just a little bit wet…”
Back in Byron we had a saying: “Never a dull moment at The Ranch Byron Bay.” And yesterday was a perfect reminder of why.
Some snippets from the day, in no particular order…
Open rolling hills. Views stretching to distant mountain ranges. River crossings. Cliff climbs. Travelling with the herd. Dogs chasing sticks in the river. Goats causing mischief around the homestead. Horses everywhere. Black swans gliding across the water. Coffee. Lunch. Caring for the horses. Facing fears. Letting go to the wind. Belly laughs. A little bit of adrenaline. And real ranch life.
And yes… the river was still running a little higher than expected. A few of the girls on the shorter horses got a little wetter than planned at one of the crossings. 😆 Everyone took it in good spirits and straight up were all laughing about me saying do you want to cross river, you might get a little bit wet. It was so worth it though.
No arena. No manufactured experience. Just horses, nature and whatever the day decides to bring.

We acknowledge the Wahlubal people of the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work and ride. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and honour their enduring connection to Country, waterways, culture and community.
Sometimes the loves of your life arrive not as lovers, but as soul sisters, faithful dogs, and the horses who carry your heart.
Together we ride the songlines of this ancient country, following paths older than memory, beneath endless skies and through landscapes that have held stories for thousands of generations.
There is something sacred about sharing this journey with those who truly see you — the friends who become family, the horses who become teachers, and the dogs who never leave your side.
A wild and beautiful life, lived in the company of kindred spirits.

Birthday ride with the girls for 🌧️🐴🥂
What started as a beautiful afternoon riding beside the Clarence River quickly turned into a wild little adventure when we got absolutely caught in the rain on the way home 😅
By the end of it we were cold, soaked and very ready to get back to the warmth of the homestead… where champagne, cheese platters and hot steaming stew were waiting for us.
It turned into the lovely ending to an adventurous day 🤍
I was super happy to see Tez riding Bonita Applebum, our beloved mare who we bred out of one of our Ranch Heavy Horses, Alinta, some of you may remember her and Fantom our Friesian Stallion. Together, Bonita and Tez were killing it with the Boss Lady vibes!! Yeeehaaaa!
Very grateful for good horses, beautiful company and moments like these out here on the Clarence.
