" CELEBRATION OF A LIFE"

On the 31st May 2023 a total of 31 bowlers congregated to Cabra - Vale Diggers to bowl in the Fay Mckellar Thorne Turn Around Triples.
Names for teams were drawn from hats (ice buckets) while bowlers were enjoying their morning tea served with yummy scones jam and cream, tea cakes and pikelets.
Outside the bowlers couldn't have asked for a better day, the sun was shining and the greens were running true to form thanks to the tireless work of Adam Troth and Ben Harvey.
Fun, laughter and friendly rivalry was how the mornings game unfolded.
Game over, bowlers retired back to the club house for some savoury snacks and beverages while winners and runner up were determined.

Runner up were
Sarah Woodford, Edwina Bohanon and Linda Kim.

The Fay Mckellor Thorne Triples was CVD Bowling Club's ladies way of paying their respect to a devoted and last member to hold the prestigious office of President before our clubs were unified.

Ladies of Cabra - Vales Bowling Club wish to convey their thanks to all bowlers in attendance on this very memorable day to celebrate Fay's life.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to say our last farewell to our cherished past president.
Fay passed away peacefully early last night.
To Graham and Fay's family on behalf of the ladies of Diggers Bowling Club we send our prayers and condolences in this your saddest of time.

Congratulations to Punch Linmaneechote, Debbie Lucey & Sharon Carroll who defeated Sue Patterson, Priscilla Croxon & Lisa Smith in the Ladies Club Triples Final 31 - 14 played 12th March 2023.
Well done to all ladies for conquering the trying conditions.

Congratulations to our CVD Bowls Co-ordinator Brent for making celebrations for Australia Day a huge success.👍👏👏 Every one enjoyed their game of bowls even with the heat. Our chef Paul cooked a fabulous BBQ👏 the celebrations continued up stairs in our bowling club until late afternoon. Met some lovely ladies Diane & Gail who came from Reevsby to have a game and I bowled against my lovely friend Carmen from Cabramatta. Great Day and great company.
