Saturday was another reminder of what this sport is really built on.
Athletes stepping onto the platform.
Referees giving up their time.
Loaders moving plates between attempts.
Coaches in corners.
Families staying late.
People cheering for lifts that werenāt even their own.
Thatās what keeps weightlifting alive.
Not massive crowds.
Not money.
Community.
Just good people coming together because they care about the sport and the people inside it.
Thank you to every single person who played a part in making the night happen.
To the lifters who put themselves out there.
To the referees, loaders and volunteers who helped everything run smoothly.
To everyone who stayed back, supported others, clapped loudly, loaded bars, packed up and contributed to the atmosphere inside the gym.
This is how strong communities are built.
One platform.
One night.
One shared effort at a time.
Proud of whatās growing here at Dungeon Barbell Club. š

Some people think progress in weightlifting comes from motivation.
It doesnāt.
It comes from showing up when the excitement wears off.
The lifters who improve arenāt always the strongest.
Theyāre the ones who keep turning up.
One session at a time.
One rep at a time.
One small improvement stacked over months and years.
Some days feel great.
Some days feel heavy.
Some days you miss lifts you know you can hit.
But consistency means you keep coming back anyway.
Thatās what builds strong lifters.
Not perfect programs.
Not perfect weeks.
Not waiting until you āfeel ready.ā
Just commitment to the process.
At Dungeon Barbell Club, weāre not chasing quick fixes.
Weāre building resilient athletes who keep showing up, even when progress feels slow.
Because strength isnāt built in one big moment.
Itās built in the hundreds of ordinary sessions nobody sees.

Gold doesn't come from luck.
It comes from structure.
This weekend, Jim stepped onto the platform at the Queensland Masters and took š„ Gold for the 55-59 age division.
But that's not the story.
Last year, Jim was coming off shoulder surgery.
No shortcuts.
No rushing back.
Just doing the work, properly.
Rebuilding.
Following the plan.
Staying patient when most wouldn't.
And this weekend?
First time back on the platform⦠and he absolutely nailed it.
That's what happens when:
āļø You respect the process
āļø You follow structure
āļø You show up, even when it's slow
This isn't about medals.
It's about proving that with the right plan and the right standards⦠you don't just come back.
You come back better.
This is Dungeon Barbell Club.
Not casual training.
Coached progression. Real outcomes.

Your clean doesn't change by chance.
It changes by position.
Start position sets the lift.
Bar path keeps it close.
Timing brings it together.
Miss one⦠and everything shifts.
That's why some reps feel easy⦠and others feel like you're fighting the bar the whole way.
We don't guess.
We break it down. We slow it down. We fix what's actually causing the miss.
Then we build it back up, with intent.
May 9 - Open Platform
