Focus: nailing the first third of the dive. The part that sets you up for the rest of it. Stoked on everyone having wins.

There’s a couple moments on a Freediving course that changes someone’s life forever.

The first ones on day one after their final static, where people are blown away by how long they did with comfort.

The second one is about half way through day 2, when they are hanging down at a depth they have just done for the first time, but it looks like they’ve been doing it their whole life.

Most people imagine learning to freedive in the ocean. We do it here — two volcanic crater lakes on the Atherton Tablelands, 800 metres above sea level, surrounded by World Heritage rainforest.

The visibility is great. The depth is perfect for training. And there’s something
about the stillness of a lake that makes learning to be underwater feel exactly right.
