The 𝐅𝐢𝐣𝐢 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝟕𝐬 𝐑𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 presented by Cairns Airport is proud to announce it's selection for support through Cairns Regional Council’s Community Partnerships Program and will proudly form part of the official 𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟓𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 program.

As Cairns marks this once-in-a-generation milestone in 2026, we’re honoured to contribute through sport, culture and community connection.

For us, has always been bigger than rugby.

It’s about creating opportunities for local volunteers, bringing people together, welcoming visitors from across Australia and the Pacific, and showcasing Tropical Far North Queensland on a bigger stage.

This year, the 5th Cairns 7s Rugby Tournament will continue building as a sports tourism and community celebration event - bringing athletes, supporters and visitors into our region while creating experiences that reflect the energy, diversity and future of Cairns.

Built on rugby, identity, peace and unity, we proudly welcome Black Orchid 7evens to the Cairns 7s Rugby Tournament 2026 - Men's Division, from the 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞, also known as: “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐁”

🕊️ 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐑𝐔𝐆𝐁𝐘 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐓 and established in 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟒, Black Orchid 7evens was created with a purpose far greater than sport.

Following the Bougainville Crisis (1988–1998), the team was formed to help promote:

🌴 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐀 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌 for over two decades, Black Orchid 7evens has proudly represented the people of Bougainville, carrying their island spirit, culture and resilience onto the rugby field.

As Bougainville continues its journey toward independence, the team hopes to use rugby to promote pride, discipline and positive representation for its people.
