It is with sadness that we learned of the passing of Chris Eade late last week. Our thoughts and love go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.

As a champion of the dive industry and a mentor to many, Chris was highly regarded as a leader within marine tourism here in Far North Queensland.

As the previous owner-operator of Tusa Dive, Spirit of Freedom and Spirit of Cairns, Chris, along with his business partner Phillip Hobbs, contributed greatly to the growth of scuba diving in the region. He will be greatly missed by many.

Having spent many years working closely with Chris, I can say he was robust in business but always had time to share his vast knowledge and experience. He had a great sense of humour, and this photograph of Chris is how I will remember him - just after finishing a dry, cheeky, funny story.
