Carnival time! First one for the year, hopefully not the last. Cooper had 5 wins and 2 2nd places. So proud of him, he's been crook as a dog all week, it's the first time he's been out of the house. Some brilliant racing against some of the best in the region but the best photo of all is the smile on his face under the helmet pushing his bike up the start hill. He loves it, the speed, the competition, the challenge and the other kids.

Something a bit different for TJM BMX Racing. Beau raced retro class at the the Cairns carnival. Cooper had been practicing in skate parks and we now have ourselves a side hack. Jess Whykes Beau Whykes

Well it was an awesome day. 27 riders in Coopers age group and he walked away with 2 3rds, 2 4ths and 2nd in his final race. So proud of him. My day of racing was pretty ordinary so my series win was bitter sweet. I just couldn't get the track, out of the 5 i rode this year it just didn't suit me. But today i raced the QLD no. 1,4,5 and 8 so it was as tough as you get.

Carnival season has started with carnivals in Cairns and Atherton. Cooper has continued his strong form from last year with 1st's and 2nd's in most races. Beau qualified well for the final in Cairns but crashed out of the Atherton event after consistent 3rd places.Thank you to TJM 4x4 Megastore again for their support and Buzz Photography for the photos. A bit of an update from our weekend. Cooper had his first win at a carnival since moving up to the big bike as a 3 year old. Exciting times for next year as he takes on the 5 and under class for the 3rd year. Beau finished 5th overall after a 3rd and some 4ths with momentary lapse of judgement resulting in a bit of an upside down moment. Less than 2 weeks after getting 18 stitches in his lip and gum after a practice accident Cooper is back on the bike racing again. Couldn't be more proud.
