100 Dives at 13 Years Old! 💙🐠

There are milestones… and then there are ✨milestones.✨

Last week onboard AquaQuest, young diver Matilda Serre officially completed her 100th dive at just 13 years old and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this incredible achievement with her and the Serre family. 🎉

Even more special? Matilda’s very first PADI dive as a 10 year old was also onboard AquaQuest, making dive number 100 a true full-circle moment for the Divers Den crew.

To make the milestone even more unforgettable, Matilda was welcomed underwater by not one, but two Tawny Nurse Sharks relaxing on the reef during the first dive of the day. Talk about perfect timing! 🦈✨

Matilda’s dad, Joe Serre from Nautilus Scuba Club Cairns and long-time friend of Divers Den, shared a heartfelt message with our team after the trip, thanking the crew for being part of Matilda’s diving journey from the very beginning.

What makes this achievement even more inspiring is that Matilda reached 100 dives after also overcoming two knee surgeries and six months out of the water. Her determination, resilience, and love for the ocean have been nothing short of amazing.

Joe also wanted to mention and shout-out that it was also incredibly special to have Mario and Burkie onboard for the milestone dive, as both crew members were there for Matilda’s very first AquaQuest dive all those years ago. 💙
