📣 PLEASE STAY OFF OUR FIELDS 🌿

We know our fields at Jeff Pezzutti Park are well used by our wider community, whether it’s for a kick, a run around or walking the dog. We love that our grounds are part of the community. ❤️

But for the next couple of weeks, we really need your help.

🌱 From Friday 25 September to Friday 9 October, we’re carrying out important treatment and work on our fields. During this time, we’re asking everyone to please stay off the fields and keep your pets off them too. The treatment needs to be left undisturbed to do its job.

We know it’s a few weeks and we know you love using the space, but this work is important to get our fields back into the best possible condition and help us prepare for the 2027 football season.

🐾 Please take the pooch for a wander and explore some of the other great green spaces around the suburb for a couple of weeks. A little help from everyone now will make a big difference.

Thanks for helping us look after our home. 🔴⚫⚽

For more than 30 years, Karl has dedicated his time and expertise to Leichhardt Junior Soccer Club and football across the Far North & Gulf region. As a player, coach, committee member and Life Member, he has made a significant contribution both on and off the field, supporting the growth and development of the game for generations of players.

From coaching Coles MiniRoos and junior teams through to senior football, Karl has consistently stepped up wherever he has been needed. His long-standing service, leadership and commitment to his club and community have made a lasting impact, making him a deserving recipient of this years' Service to Football Gold Award.

❤️⚽ Congratulations MILAN REBIC ⚽❤️

Every season, Milan Rebic gives an extraordinary amount of his time to female football and not just to one team or one group of players.

This year alone, Milan coached across seven Leichhardt female teams as Head Coach or Coach, while supporting the assistant coaches around him:

🦁 Two U10/11 Lioness teams
🦁 Three U12/13 Lioness teams
🦁 U14/16 Lionesses
🦁 U23 Women’s Reserves

What makes Milan’s contribution particularly special is that he has always looked beyond his own teams and beyond Leichhardt! He thinks about the bigger picture, how we develop more female players, support coaches, create pathways and continue strengthening the women’s game across our whole region!

That has been Milan, season after season.

Countless hours on the training field and sidelines, sharing his knowledge, supporting other coaches and giving girls opportunities to become better footballers.

Thank you, Milan, for everything you continue to give to our Lionesses, our club and female football in our region. ❤️

❤️ Congratulations U12/U13 FQPL Girls!Amazing achievement! ❤️

The U12/13 QPL Lionesses deserve recognition not only for what they have achieved on the field, but for the way they represent Leichhardt and the growing strength of female football at our Club.

Leichhardt had seven incredible Liomess teams in 2026, and this group of players is helping set the standard for the strong female football culture we continuing to build..

Their football speaks for itself. They are an exciting and creative team to watch, with some incredibly talented individual players, but their greatest strength is that they play for each other as a team. Individual talent never comes before the group.

Their season has already been exceptional: Felipe Mele Memorial Carnival champions in Townsville, Premiership winners, Grand final winners and hope for the upcoming Crad Evans.

This is a group that combines talent, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship and genuine club spirit. ❤️

What a battle! Our U23 Men left absolutely everything out on the field in a hard-fought Grand Final that went all the way into overtime before being decided by a penalty shootout. ⚽️🔥

Gentlemen, hold your heads high! 👏

You finished the season as Premiers, fought your way into the Grand Final and showed incredible determination, teamwork and heart right until the very end.

It may not have been the result you wanted today, but what you have achieved this season is something to be incredibly proud of. ❤️🖤
