We are excited to announce that Cairns Golf Club has been named a finalist in three categories at the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards!

The Club has been recognised as a finalist for:
• Regional Club of the Year
• Junior Program of the Year
• Board Member of the Year – Sam Bush

To be recognised across these three categories is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work and commitment of our staff, volunteers, Board and wider Club community 👏.

We are particularly proud to see our Junior Program recognised, as well as President Sam Bush being named a finalist for Board Member of the Year.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Night on Thursday 8th October at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

We look forward to celebrating the achievements of the Queensland golf industry and hopefully bringing home some silverware for Cairns Golf Club!

The Cairns Ladies Interclub Matchplay team had their last outing for the year at Mossman on Thursday 3rd September.

The team came away with a comprehensive win over Mirage scoring 4 wins, 1 square and 1 loss 👏.

The total of 7.5 points was enough to push the 2026 team into overall 3rd place behind competition winners, HMB and Atherton in 2nd place. Special mention and thanks to Chris Trevenen who got the "emergency" call at 6:45am to play. Chris got to Mossman by 9:15 and came away with a 4/2 win!

Over the Matchplay season, a total of 14 golfers represented the Cairns Golf Club playing throughout the District. A huge thank you to all players who made themselves available.
