💚💛 2026 FNQRL FOLEY SHIELD REUNION 💚💛

Earlier this month, FNQRL was proud to host the 2026 Foley Shield Reunion Event at Brothers Leagues Club.

It was a fantastic afternoon celebrating the rich history, tradition and legacy of the Foley Shield, and we sincerely thank everyone who attended — particularly our past players and Foley Shield representatives from as far back as the 1960s.

The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, share stories and recognise the many people who have contributed to the proud history of Rugby League in Far North Queensland.

A massive thank you to the Cairns Regional Council for their incredible support of the event. FNQRL were also pleased to support Family of League Foundation raise funds to support the important work they do within the Rugby League community.

A landmark partnership for Rugby League in FNQ! 🤝

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys and FNQRL have officially joined forces in a major commitment to grassroots Rugby League, with more than $100,000 set to be invested across the 2026–2028 seasons.

The agreement will also see the Cowboys secure naming rights to all FNQRL female pathways competitions — helping create even greater opportunities for girls and women across our region.

FNQRL Chair Chey Bird said it best: “This is Cowboys country.”

Together, we’re building stronger pathways, growing participation, and supporting the next generation of Rugby League talent in Far North Queensland. 🏉
