The 2026 Australian Swimming Trials kick off next Monday, 8 June, serving as the sole qualifying meet for selection to the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, and the Para Pan Pacs.
FNQ will be proudly represented on the national stage with three outstanding local swimmers competing:
⭐ Nathan Andronicus – Marlin Coast
⭐ Grant “Scooter” Patterson – Centrals
⭐ Sydney Kito – Stingrays

held an unforgettable club night last Friday, which was truly a night to remember!
The excitement was unmistakable as the swimmers gathered together, which included and the Little Pears Swim School, to socialize, have fun, and be inspired by some amazing special guests.
The club was thrilled to welcome Olympic gold medallist Kaylee McKeown, and it was a real treat to have former local boy and Saints legend Zac Tabuai join, who is loving the challenge involved in becoming a dolphin 😍

We had just the one FNQ swimmer who did the hike to Mackay this weekend for the 2026 NQ Games.
Huge congratulations to Aiden Ottone from Saints, who came away with an impressive haul of 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal!

We are pleased to announce that following the conclusion of the Australian Age Championships at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, the 32-member Australian Junior Dolphins team has been selected to compete at the 2026 World Junior Championships in Vancouver, Canada, from August 17th to 20th.
Notably, our own Sydney Kito from Stingrays has been named as part of the team.
According to Swimming Australia, the team was chosen based on outstanding performances at the Australian Age Championships, which saw 18 national records set over eight days of racing.

Paige finished out the 2026 Australian Age Championships in spectacular form, coming home with the bronze medal in the 100 Fly, taking an absolutely massive -3.24 off her entry time 🥉

We have just the one FNQ swimmer in tonights finals at the 2026 Australian Age Championships. The very best of luck to the talented Paige Carey as she takes to the pool to compete in the 100 m Fly this evening! We're all cheering for you, Paige! 🏊♀️💪️
Special mention goes out to Jaxon Pickard, who absolutely crushed it in the 200 m fly this morning! Not only did he take a whopping -5.32 seconds off his personal best time, but he also finished as the 14th fastest 13-year-old boy in the country! 👏

Sunny Kito has done it again! Taking home a third Australian title at the 2026 Age Championships 🥇🥇🥇, solidifying his position as one of the top young swimmers in the country!
In the Day 7 finals last night, Sunny managed to take a whopping -29.58 seconds off his 1500 Free time, to secure first place in the 13-year-old Boys age group.
Amazing job!!! We can't wait to see what the future holds for this young champion!

We've finally reached the final day of the 2026 Australian Age Championships, and two of our talented FNQ swimmers, Paige and Jaxon, are gearing up to take part in the morning heats, fighting for a coveted spot in tonight's finals. 🏊♀️🏊♂️

Looking back on Day 7, we're still buzzing from the incredible performances that saw our swimmers achieve fantastic personal best times and secure impressive placings that they should be incredibly proud of. 🎉👏 It's been an amazing championship so far, and we can't wait to see what the final day brings! 😃
