Storers of physical and metaphysical energy. Post partum (or general parenting.. eg lifting toddlers!) is HARD on the body, especially the glutes and hips.

There are so many yoga asana and adjustment techniques to get the most out of your yoga practice as a mumma to release these energetic powerhouse areas.

My first baby and first period of maternity leave I made it all about her. The playgroups, the swimming lessons, the infant massage, the baby gymnastics, and the list goes on and on. Now with my second bubba it’s all about me. Not that she’s missing out, it just looks different.
I’m doing things to enrich my own well-being, and she is reaping the benefits. Yoga classes become like playgroups, morning walks are time to listen to the sea, and brunch with friends are time to bond with people who love her.

Many people resist yoga because of the breath work aspect (pranayama). I’m going to tell you now that, girl, you are missing out!

Breath work is life changing.

Did you know..
👉🏽 the average person takes about 16 breaths per minute, or 960 breaths per hour, 23,040 breaths a day, 8,409,600 a year. If you lived to the age of 75, that would mean 630,720,000 breaths in your lifetime.

👉🏽Mouth-breathing can contribute to the following:
-Misaligned bite
-Bad breath
-Snoring
-Sleep apnea
-Night-time urination

👉🏽 If you laid out the lungs flat, they would cover the size of a tennis court (about 70 square meters!) The right lung is larger than the left: The left lung is made up of two lobes while the right is made up of three.

So, take a breath, and meet me on the mat.

This little yoga mama is doing a happy dance this morning. I’ve had the most unimaginable feedback for mums and bubs yoga, now considering a second class! I’ve also had lots of enquires from pregnant mummas wanting to attend.

Watch this space, there may be more to come yet!

And most of all- thank you! For sharing this exciting venture of mine, for prioritising yourself in motherhood, and for being brave to try something new.
