Thank you to all our players and families for your hard work, dedication, and team spirit showed up every single game. 👏

The early trainings, the effort on court, the way you backed each other through the wins and the tough moments, all added up to a season worth celebrating. 🎉

A huge thank you to our coaches too. Your guidance, patience, and countless hours behind the scenes shaped this group into a real team. We're so grateful for everything you give to our players and our community.

Your next chapter starts here.

Cairns Basketball is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head Coach to lead the Cairns Dolphins NBL1 North Women’s program in 2027. This is an opportunity to lead a high-performance program, develop talented athletes and coaches, build a strong team culture and help shape a genuine pathway for local players into NBL1 basketball.

We’re looking for a coach who brings:
🏀 Proven high-performance coaching experience
🏀 Strong leadership and communication skills
🏀 A commitment to player and coach development
🏀 The ability to build a positive, connected and accountable culture
🏀 A genuine commitment to the Cairns basketball community

Must have a current open Queensland drivers licence and Blue Card working with Children.
If you’re ready to lead, develop and build the future of the Dolphins, we’d love to hear from you.

Recognising 12 Years of Service. 🙌 🏀

After 12 years of dedicated service to Cairns Basketball, we thank outgoing President Chris Van Dorssen for his extraordinary contribution to our organisation and the broader basketball community.

Chris has helped shape Cairns Basketball both on and off the court, including through major infrastructure projects such as the Court 5 upgrade, power upgrade and CQUniversity building and sports science facilities.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Andrea and the Van Dorssen family for supporting Chris throughout his years of service.

The Board has elected Aaron Luki as Interim President, who will lead Cairns Basketball through to the upcoming AGM.

Thank-you Chris, for 12 years of leadership, commitment and passion for basketball in Cairns. We wish you, Andrea and your family all the very best for the next chapter! 👏✨

The Cairns Basketball U16 Rep Ready Program is in progress. Our Sunday sessions are in the afternoons, so athletes can develop their skills and get ready for the upcoming representative basketball season and still have a bit of a sleep-in.

📅 Program Dates:
Sunday 30 August | 2:30pm – 4:00pm
Sunday 6 September | 2:30pm – 4:00pm

If you're ready to level up your game, grow your confidence, or simply hit the ground running for rep season, this program is your chance to put in the effort and arrive prepared. 💪🏀
