Sometimes it’s not just about the fishing — it’s about the story behind it.

14-year-old Noah and his dad Dale had a tough run with the weather, with two trips cancelled due to offshore conditions. But Dale wasn’t giving up that easily… making the drive back up from Townsville to Cairns for another shot when the next weather window opened.

Saturday was that day — and it delivered.

“Best day of my life.”

That’s what Noah said at the end of it — and honestly, that’s what it’s all about.

We couldn’t be happier for Noah, and a big round of applause to Dale for being an absolute legend of a dad — moving heaven and earth to make it happen.

We felt this one was so special, we’ve dedicated this post to Noah and Dale — we’ll share more photos from the rest of the charter in a separate post.

February always gives us a chance to slow the pace just a little — a small breather before the Easter rush and the busy season kicks in.

We’ve enjoyed the quieter days, catching GTs and welcoming locals, families, friends and guests from all corners of the world to share one of the most stunning places on the planet to visit and fish — the Great Barrier Reef.

Welcome to February. School’s back, routines are back, and it’s time to plan something fun. Who’s keen?

It feels like we’ve hardly done any fishing lately with two reef closures this month, plus having our vessels up on the hard stand for annual maintenance.

At least the crew managed to get their feet on land for a few consecutive days!
