Representing in Cairns, Sam Wakeling has quickly established himself as one of North Queensland’s brightest young prospects. At just 19 years of age, Sam has already stepped into the professional ranks, taking on tough challenges across the state and earning plenty of attention with his exciting style. On September 19, he’ll be looking to continue his rise with a statement win on the After Dark show.

Stevie Johnson returns to the ring with 10 fights under his belt, ready to pick up where he left off. Fighting out of Vince Parks’ Full Boar Muay Thai, Stevie is as comfortable spearing fish and wrestling wild boars as he is throwing elbows and knees. Backed by the entire Cooktown community, he’ll be looking to spoil Sam’s plans and claim another Muay Thai victory.

‘TANK’ McRoberts returns after time away from the sport, looking to remind everyone exactly why he’s one of Australia’s most respected heavyweights. A multiple Queensland and Australian Champion, Tank training out of .gym_cairns is back with his sights firmly set on championship gold and making a statement in his return.

Who wants another NQ AFTER DARK?

The lights, the smoke, the crowd, the atmosphere, it lifted the fighters and it was one of the most entertaining shows to be a part of.

Hats off to both boys for absolutely giving everything this night and . An absolutely epic main event to top off an absolutely epic show of memorable fights.

👊THAT WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL👊
The dust has settled and we just want to say what an epic day and night of entertaining fights, we hope everyone enjoyed the show.

The day time event showcased all the amazing talent coming through the ranks in North Queensland, four awesome female bouts, talented kids and adults and was capped off with a spectacular fight that saw young from defeat from with a classy performance in the Main Event.

Then as the sun went down, we set the stage for our night time pro show. The venue came to life with the smoke and lights and the atmosphere was insane and all the fighters gave the sell out crowd what they came to see... MUAY THAI AT ITS FINEST with four awesome undercard fights, followed by five epic title fights that had everyone on the edge of their seats the entire night.

Coming into the main event it looked near impossible to match the excitement of the previous fights but and stole the show. Young Oliver from Cooktown fought the fight of his life and with an epic performance that had Ryan in trouble coming into the final round. Ryan found another gear and came out looking for the knockout in round five and both boys traded blows until a well set up spinning back fist landed clean on Oliver's chin, putting him down on the canvas and stopping the fight, awarding Ryan the NQ After Dark professional championship belt in the final seconds, capping off an amazing night of fights.

Thanks to all the fighters for an absolutely stellar performance and thanks to everyone for making it a night to remember... we hope you enjoyed the show.
