📢👉EVENT UPDATE for 29th and 30th August👈
Despite our best-efforts Mother Nature has done it again 🌧️🤬 The amount of rain that Camden got on Tuesday has left the arena surface unsafe to be used. Even with minimal or no rain forecast there will not be enough time before the weekend for the ground to be dry enough to be prepared to the standard we require.
As we are not willing to risk the safety of our competitors, the horses or the cattle we’ve had to make the incredibly tough decision to cancel the event on the 29th and 30th of August.😢😢😢
The only alternate date available was the weekend of the 5th and 6th of September and this wasn’t going to work due to another Team Sorting Event already running on those dates, Father’s Day commitments and the unavailability of key people.
We recognise that the surface needs improvement to reduce the chance of having to cancel due to adverse weather. We had plans in place to make a start on this on the Thursday before the event, but the condition of the surface put a hold on those as well. We’re now aiming to have this in place before the October Event.

Well Saturday afternoon threw us a curve ball. The storm that initially looked like it was going to go around us decided to hit instead. The rain it dumped resulted in the arenas ending up in a gluggy slippery mess. Didn't look to bad until you tried to walk on it - yeah nah.
It's such a shame because prior to that everyone seemed to be having a great day - probably with the exception of poor Pete who took a nasty fall. He's still in hospital with some broken bits but we've been told he's on the improve enough to start giving the nurses cheek. Thank you to all that helped Pete with special mention to Tanya, Monique and De'hanne.
We made the difficult decision to cancel Sunday as the condition of the arena surfaces were just not safe to proceed. It was great to see some of you make the most of it and take advantage of the lovely grounds and enjoy a ride out through the park on Sunday.
The Training Sessions were once again very well received, so thanks Norm for sharing your time and expertise and as usual a huge thank you to all of you that give your time to help us run the events. There's always lots to be done to keep it all running so your help with cattle, organising riders in and out of the pens, timekeeping, doing coaching runs etc. is greatly appreciated.
As mentioned in a previous post refunds of Sundays entry fee's are available or you
can choose to have your money held over in credit toward the next event. If you do wish to get a refund could you please message the page ASAP as I would like to get them processed as soon as possible.
The results and happy snaps for Saturday are below so congratulations to all winners and placegetters.
REMINDER: Entries for 7th & 8th of March open at 9am TODAY!
It's going to take me a couple of days before I get back to you so don't panic if your message appears to be unopened.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
‼️ATTENTION PLEASE📢‼️
Newcomers and Novices
Training Sessions are back for 2026
Due to the success of the previous Training sessions we're going to run these again at the March Event.
2 sessions will be run on each of the mornings with approx. 8 riders per session and are designed for anyone who is new to working cattle, those wanting to work on their skills or as an introduction to cattle for young horses away from the pressures of the Competition arenas.
➡️Each session will run for around an hour and a half and the cost per session per rider will be $50.00. To book in for a session please add this to your entry details.
➡️You can do a training session in the morning and then have your 3 runs after your session has finished.
The feedback that we got after we ran these before was extremely positive with many participants commenting on how beneficial they found the sessions and how much they enjoyed them.
