There's a few poor deadlifts here, but the message is simple, if you don't use it you lose it, and that goes for bones as well as muscles. Weight bearing exercises help to increase and maintain bone mass, let alone increase muscular strength. Low impact exercise does not stress the body enough to allow these benefits to be realised, bones and muscles must be loaded in order for them to be maintained or grown. Better keep that gym membership into your 70's then.
