Varsity Derby League

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the devastating news that two of our league members, Foxxy and Lilli, tragically passed away on Monday.

Foxxy had been part of our league since 2015 and was a much-loved teammate, known for her strength, positivity, and dedication.

Lilli joined our league during last year’s learn to skate intake and quickly became part of our derby family. While her time with us was shorter, she was a valued and cherished member of our community.

Our thoughts are with their families, friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support Foxxy’s youngest daughter, who is currently in critical condition in hospital. If you are able, please consider supporting the family.

🌈 This Saturday is Fair Day at Springout Pride Festival - Canberra and we are so excited!! Come hang in the sports hub and talk to us about roller skating and roller derby. We may even play some off-skates derby 💥

🛼 Sunday is time to get your skates on at our Spring Roller Disco. Come down to Evelyn Scott School and roll with us to some great tunes.

That was such a fun game! 💜 Huge thanks to Inner West Bamshees for an amazing game — the vibes were on the whole time and we loved hitting the track with all our friends! 🥰

We are so proud and beyond grateful to have Bloxy as an amazing captain and trainer here at Varsity. For those who didn’t know, this was Bloxy’s last skating tournament with Varsity — what an incredible way to close out such a long and inspiring derby career. 💜
