Free Training Days – Become a Qualified Technical Official

Love athletics? Want to stay involved and help make every event possible?
Capital Athletics is hosting two free, hands‑on training days where you can gain nationally recognised accreditation as a Technical Official. Open to anyone aged 13 and over (turning 14 this year) – coaches, parents, athletes, and volunteers all welcome.

Volunteers Required at Open & Under 20's Championships

Capital Athletics wants to hear from you - We have an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to be at the heart of the action at the upcoming Open & Under 20 Championships from 25th to 27th January!

We are seeking volunteers to assist with key roles during the events. Whether you’re a certified official or simply enthusiastic about helping, this is your chance to get up close to some of the best track and field athletes from Australia and Oceania.

Volunteer Roles Available:
• Pit Racking: Set up and maintain triple jump or long jump pits alongside competing athletes.
• Bar Adjusting: Be on the field adjusting high jump and pole vault bars as athletes soar to new heights.
• Implement Retrieval: Retrieve javelins, discus, and shot puts, keeping the competition running smoothly.
• General Assistance: Tackle various tasks and ensure the event runs seamlessly, every moment will be unique!

Why Volunteer?
• Free entry to the event.
• Be part of the action and witness incredible athletic performances up close.
• Gain hands on experience and learn from seasoned officials.
• Start your journey toward becoming a certified official, potentially paving the way to officiating at major events like the 2032 Brisbane Olympics!
