We had a really good Term1. The change in syllabus content and "exploring" aikido component was very popular with the kids and the instructors.
Additionally we saw many good gradings, about a third of the student body, which was very pleasing.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again, and meeting our new students in Term2.
Covid hygiene and masks remain in place, matching ACT schools.
Best wishes,
Murray
It was an excellent term, our AikiKids trained really hard and performed particularly well. It was a short term unfortunately, but packed with great learning.
I was very pleased by the thoughtfulness of the kids regarding mask wearing and vaccinations. We had no-one sick in any of the 10 weekly AikiKids classes and no transmissions. Well done!
Our holiday program runs on Jan 10/11/12, for three half-days, from 9am-12 for 5-8s and continuing to 1pm for 9-Teens. Everyone is invited, and your friends are also welcome.

We resume again at the beginning of Term1 in 2022, which starts Monday 31 January. We look forward to seeing everyone again then, so please stay safe, vaccinated and boostered, and have a fantastic holiday period.
We're back, and firing!
Its a short term so the format is a little different, roughly half and half Aikido technique and Aikido weapons training (which the kids love). Additionally we are providing the kids with much more training in the "internal power" methods that actually make Aikido work. They are soaking it up and really delivering, a real pleasure to watch.
There will be a holiday program in the summer break, details TBA, but it is usually the 2nd week of January for 3 half-days.
Lockdowns finish on the 29th, so we will be resuming all AikiKids and Adult classes indoors from Sunday 31st. At last!!!!
For the AikiKids it will be a shorter term, with 6 weeks left in the school term. However, there will be a Holiday program for the AikiKids and for anyone 5-16 wishing to experience Aikido for the first time. All welcome! Bring a friend!
The holiday program includes a broad look at Aikido providing both basics for people new to aikido and exploring areas not usually seen in term classes. It also includes aikido sword and staff.
There are always games for fun, and activities that are both fun and assist aikido skills.
Look forward to seeing you all inside soon.
Well, it looks like it will be Term3 before AikiKids Aikido resumes. Oh well, it is what it is. I miss the kids, and I'm quite frustrated that they had all made significant progress that is now interrupted. But the foundation is there so it won't take long to get back in the swing.
I hope you are all staying safe and well, and I look forward to seeing you again soon-ish.
