🟨🟦Grand final!🟦🟨

Our Capital League Open 8 boys are in the big dance and will take on Gungahlin United for a trophy this Saturday.

A win will be an incredible reward for the lads, who are looking to go back-to-back and put the cherry on top of a dominant season where they also took out the minor premiership.

As the only Canberra City team to be playing for a trophy this weekend, the entire club is right behind you!

The CLO8 grand final will be played on Kambah 2 - Field 203 at Laidlaw Place. Kick-off is 12.00 pm, Saturday 30 August.

Canberra City is playing for a grand final trophy 🏆

Congratulations to our CLO8 team who beat a determined Narrabundah Bulls to earn a spot in the grand final. A huge achievement for the lads who are looking to go back-to-back.

Hot conditions and an energetic Bulls side meant that the match was competitive for a solid 60 minutes before a flurry of goals sealed the game. The highlight, a pinpoint Harry cross to a diving Keane header to put City 2 goals up when the game was in the balance.

Unfortunately it was heartache for our CLO7 side who put on a heroic performance against the top of the table Burns FC. The lads fought and pushed all the way to penalties but it wasn’t meant to be. Not the result we wanted but a season to be proud of.

One trophy to play for now. City take on Gungahlin in the CLO8 final this Saturday 30 August, details to come.

It’s finals time! 🎉

The regular season is done and dusted and two out of our four Canberra City teams now set their eyes on bringing home a trophy.

Shout out to our CLO3 and CLO4 teams who only narrowly missed out finals. Well done on competitive seasons.

Our CLO7 team sat in the top 4 for most of the season and held off a late surge by other teams to earn a finals spot. They line up for a blockbuster playoff game against top of the table Burns FC.

It was a truly dominant season by our CLO8 side. Minor premiers and only 1 loss to their name after sitting on top of the table for basically the entire season. Will it be back-to-back premierships for the lads? They take on Narrabundah FC for a place in the grand final.

Both playoff games are played at Charnwood tomorrow (Saturday) with earlier kick off times to allow for potential extra time and penalties.

Time to dust off the footy boots… Canberra City pre-season training officially returns from Wednesday 5 February at Hackett Oval.

⚽️Boots on and ready to go by 6.30pm
⚽️Pre-season training is weekly and will continue the same time every Wednesday until the season begins
⚽️The 2025 senior seasons will kick off from 5 April

Canberra City is an amateur senior football club based in the Inner North with home games played in Hackett. Our weekend warriors currently play in a range of teams across the men’s State League level.

🏆Keen to play? New players are always welcome at Canberra City!

And while we currently don’t have an active women’s team right now, we’re hoping this will change in 2025.
